Thimbleberries Log Cabin Quilted Valances

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

I am parting with my Thimbleberries log cabin window valances.  The valances are unique in that they are quilted and have a layer of batting between the quilt top and backing, just like a traditional quilt.  They are now for sale in my Etsy shop, Busy Hands Quilts.  They measure 9" x 57" long and would work for a fairly broad range of window sizes.  They would also work as table runners.  Here are pictures of three of the six.

Isn't that a fun chicken on the left?  Mrs.Fancy is made completely of metal, even her fancy red dress, and stands about 18" tall.  My sister gave Mrs.Fancy to me, knowing that she is just . my . style!

HELP! What Do I Do With All This Zucchini?

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

About now you might be wondering what to do with your huge supply of zucchini?!?  This is what happens to zucchini at our house.  First we fry it with a little bit of butter until it is mostly burned.  We all agree this is our favorite way to eat zucchini.  But there comes a point in harvest where we can't keep up with what is being produced so ... we freeze it.

In case you aren't sitting down, now would be a good time to do so.

It's a very difficult, complicated process.

Wash.
Chop.
Grate.
Bag.
Freeze.

We put one-cup portions in freezer bags.

You can hide zucchini in just about anything.

Spaghetti
Lasagna
Soup
Stew
Soup
Stew
Soup
Most any hot dish

And the only way they know it is there is an occasional green speck that could be nothing other than
ZUCCHINI!

We've got 30 bags so far!

Earn Cash Back With Ebates

Ebates Coupons and Cash Back
I just received my Ebates cash rebate of $17.36.  This rebate is for the last three months.
Here are some of my purchases and the rebate they earned:
  • $130 at In The Swim  - rebate of $7.80
  • $39.16 at Lands End - rebate of $2.35
  • $107.60 at Fabric.Com - rebate of $4.30
You see how it adds up.  Any time I shop online, I check Ebates to see if they offer rebates for that store, and it sure pays off.  I have earned $82.56 in Ebates cash rebates over the last year - not spending any extra money to do so - just stopping by Ebates before purchasing at other sites.  Easy peasy.
Why don't you sign up, too, and begin earning cash back?  It's painless!

The Bomb Drops ... It Doesn't Match!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

The bomb drops ... it doesn't match.

This valance is the culprit that caused the bomb to drop.

This delightfully cheery valance is guilty.

... guilty ...
... guilty ...
... guilty ...
... too stinkin' cute guilty ...

She was replacing this ...

... which is next to this ...

The delightfully cheery guilty valance above led to a conversation between Mr. and Mrs. Hearts in which it was discovered that the Mr. doesn't really like the fabrics and thinks they don't match all the wood in the room {ceiling, beams, windows, curtain holders}.  It was insinuated that Mrs.Hearts would be painting the walls pink next.  {GASP!}

The valance is a big NO, and that leads Mrs.Hearts to her decision...

... Mrs.Star is coming down ...

Mr.Hearts really doesn't like her, and the Mrs. thinks it is important that the Mr. like his own living room where he spends a lot of his evenings.

Mrs.Star will be for sale soon in the Mrs.' Etsy shop since the Hearts home has no other place for her.

Mrs.Hearts is making coordinating pillow shams as we speak.

Here is a peek.

Alas, Mrs.Hearts finds solace in fabric since her extensive stash does not contain any fabrics that meet Mr.Hearts' requirements of brown.

!! More fabric shopping !!

{TEE HEE!}
