Lap Quilt in Amy Butler Lark

Amy Butler's Lark collection of fabrics are gorgeous prints that I didn't want to cut up into small pieces, so I decided to again use Bohemian Charm from Kelly at My Quilt Infatuation as inspiration for this quilt.  This pattern is quickly becoming my go-to pattern for fabrics with large, bold prints. All fabrics, including the quilt top, backing, and binding, are Amy Butler Lark prints.  I ♥ how they play together in this quilt!  If only you could see how stunning the fabrics are in person; pictures just don't tell the whole story.  I purchased Lark from Craftsy on an amazing sale, and it is still in stock! Because I love supporting fellow Etsians, I also purchased a few more coordinates and larger pieces for backing on Etsy. The binding is a black and white print from the collection. The backing is made of three strips of coordinates. Quilt Stats:

• Binding:  Double fold, attached by machine with 45-degree mitered corners.

• Quilting:  Machine quilted in an allover meandering stitch in cream thread on Mrs.Singer, my antique 31-15 mounted on a long-arm quilting frame.

Dottie Dot Quilt in Progress

I have been wanting to work with these fabrics for months, but I couldn't figure out what to do with them.  I finally found the perfect pattern!  I was inspired by this quilt at Exuberant Color which led me to this free pattern!  This fabric is totally different than what's shown in the quilt and the pattern, but it just clicked in my mind when I saw the pattern layout.  Tonight I pressed all the fabrics so they're ready to be cut into squares when I get the chance.
Shh, I have a secret to tell you!  These fabrics are from the Craftsy 2013 Block of the Month Kit I purchased last year!  Can you believe I am not using the kit for the project?  {GASP!}

Fresh Flowers Quilt-Along - I'm In!! - My Fabric Choices

It's hard to do, but I'm getting more courageous - I'm breaking into my California Girl layer cake, pulling out four or five fabrics and using them in a project! One of these fabrics will not be included in the quilt top, but I haven't decided which one, yet.  I hope I don't regret singling out my favorite fabrics from the collection and leaving the rest for something else, or that I didn't start a revolt amongst the fabric in the closet.  I've even picked out a wall to hang this quilt on when she's finished!
