Stash Report - Annie's Farm Stand Collection!

... Annie's Farm Stand by Holly Holderman for Lakehouse Dry Goods ...

... my latest obsession ...

... am I really confessing that there are over 40 yards of fabric there ...?

Believe it or not, this collection is for my living room, dining room, kitchen re-do.  From this fabric I'll be making a full/queen-sized quilt for the wall, 6 living room window valances {each with a different quilt block pattern}, a piano bench cover, at least two quilted throws, sofa pillows, several table runners, a set of floor-length curtains for the sliding glass door and a valance for the kitchen window, and perhaps a curtain for the front door window.  The sliding glass door curtains will be made from the "cheater" fabric that looks like a pieced quilt in the top right of the picture.

For the full/queen-sized quilt for the living room wall, I plan on using the pattern on the cover of Eleanor Burn's "Still Stripping After 25 Years" book.  It is the pattern in the bottom of the picture.  I love the traditional patterns in the book and the step-by-step layout with colored diagrams.  Eleanor's easy-to-follow style really helped me establish strip-piecing in my quilting.

Below is a bundle of coordinating fat quarters I picked up at a LQS's annual fat quarter Mardi Gras sale this week.  I didn't really need it {oh, really?}, but couldn't resist its sweetness!

Happy stashing!!

  1. Wow! You are certainly well organized. I have to confess that it makes me a little weary to see all that you want to accomplish, but I know that a little at a time does the job. It is fun and cheery looking and I would like to see completion pictures.

  2. @ Helen - I really enjoy your comments! I will be sure to post pictures. Yes, a little at a time is how it gets done. I sew a little bit almost everyday, even if it is just taking 15 minutes at a time to press or pin or chain stitch a pile of blocks to prepare for the next available opportunity. Right now, I've worked through what I need to with the kids and their school work today, I've made some necessary phone calls, laundry is going and supper is in the crockpot, so I am headed off to sew on my 30s Barn Raising Quilt Blocks!
