GRAVITY Quilt Along {Template Tips}

The Hex N More and Super Sidekick templates used in the GRAVITY Quilt are very useful tools to have in the toolbox because each one makes several shapes in lots of sizes (8 sizes on the Super Sidekick!).  The directions on the insert are extremely well written and helpful, but I'm still a little nervous about using them and have been putting it off!  It's nice to see things in action, so we'll be learning directly from Julie Herman, GRAVITY'S designer, via YouTube videos.  Hopefully the templates will soon be our friends!

In this video, Julie introduces the Hex N More and the Sidekick.  This is a good video to begin with as it will really inspire you to learn how to use the rulers when you see how versatile they truly are.

The videos below are more in depth lessons on cutting different shapes with the Hex N More and Sidekick rulers.  Some of the videos demonstrate Jaybird Quilt's smaller templates - the Mini Hex N More and the Sidekick - which are not used in the GRAVITY Quilt, but the process remains the same for the larger templates as for the small templates.

Since I have never used the Super Sidekick or Hex N More rulers, I plan on practicing with them before cutting into my GRAVITY Kit.
