Our Thanksgiving Dinner + Giveaway + Pattern Sale!

Would you believe this is the first Thanksgiving dinner I have cooked in our 23-year marriage?  My husband's family lives nearby and we usually go to their house, but they had other plans today so we'll celebrate Thanksgiving with them on Sunday.  We had my niece over because her mom had to work today.  Unfortunately, we don't live near my family, but we got to spend time with them last week on a cruise in the Caribbean!  I'll share more about our trip next week.

Anyway, yes, this is indeed the first Thanksgiving dinner I have cooked myself.  I kept it simple with no vegetables - just turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, and gravy and had no complaints, if you can believe that.  :)  The cranberry sauce did blush because he saw the turkey dressing.  Ha Ha.  It's an old family joke.  My daughter and niece made banana trifle, and my oldest son made pumpkin pies.  My middle son was the official pan washer throughout the day, as well as the potato peeler.

You knew I'd throw a rainbow in somewhere, didn't you?!? Even the china I picked out when we got married is a rainbow of flowers! I've always been stitched in color!

Last month with my All-Access Pass to Craftsy classes, I watched Roasting Techniques Every Cook Should Know by Molly Stevens and learned a lot.  The turkey was roasted using the method taught in the class.  I should have taken a picture of it, because it looked exactly like the picture below and was delicious, if I may say so myself.  I was glad to have Molly's cookbook, All About Roasting, on hand and used it for specific details as well as her dressing recipe which turned out delicious.

Now for the fun stuff - a giveaway!

I have two panels of Kate Spain Joy Stockings to give away to two lucky winners.  Each winner will receive one panel which includes two stockings on it.

US addresses only, please.

Giveaway ends Tuesday, December 1st, at midnight Pacific time.

Accuquilt Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sale
Accuquilt's sale prices are the lowest of the year for four days only!  I ♥ my Go! and use it more than I thought I would.  The strip cutters are really amazing - cut the strip and then place the cut strips on the die the opposite direction 90 degrees and get perfect squares!  I cut something like 140 - 2.5" squares in less than 7 minutes on my Go! recently using a strip cutter.  I'm planning on getting a few dies that have been on my wish list - the equilateral triangle, the flying geese, and tumbler.
