Summer Solstice Quilt Along {Top Finished!} + GIVEAWAY - Win 5 of My Quilt Patterns!

Can I just say, YES!

Summer Solstice is perhaps the most beautiful quilt I've ever made - right up there with GRAVITY!

Thank you sincerely to all of you who encouraged me to take the time to add a border to Summer Solstice.  The borders made all the difference!  I also decided to add sashing between the blocks, and that went a long way in calming down the madness.

This quilt was made as part of the Summer Solstice Quilt Along designed by Melissa at Happy Quilting.  The blocks are 24" with 3" sashing and three 3" borders for a grand total of 97" square, a generous queen.  The HSTs color coordinate with the block they are next to.  The fabric is all Kona Cotton from a repurposed Craftsy kit.  I often buy Craftsy kits even if I don't like the included pattern because their prices are so amazing when you look at the yardage included.

I sewed for over six hours today to assemble the quilt blocks and add the borders. If all goes as planned, tomorrow I will be quilting Summer Solstice on Mrs.Singer, and Wednesday I will be binding the quilt, just in time for the finished quilt parade at Happy Quilting on Thursday.

This quilt will be for sale in my Etsy shop shortly!

And in other news, as part of The Road Home Row Along, you can win 5 of my PDF quilt patterns over at Tweety Loves Quilting, September 13-20!  Go HERE to view my quilt patterns and go HERE to enter to win!
