Stunning Hudson Fabrics
This quilt is made with Hudson fabric by Whistler Studios for Windham Fabrics. This quilt uses the tone-on-tone navy print from the collection for the background. The collection is a lovely blend of navy, subtle reds, sweet pinks, and taupe-y grays in tiny florals, bandana prints, tone-on-tones, dots, and stripes. I am really drawn to the little added details in this fabric and plan to use it in a guest room very soon focusing on the navy and pink prints. Material like this could be turned into the most beautiful quilt that can be shared among others.
Backing is widescreen by Robert Kaufman in Gray, available here in our shop. It's the perfect neutral backing with light gray grid work on white.
Longarm Machine Quilting
The modern quilting design you see in these photos is Maze by Keryn Emmerson for Intelligent Quilting in dark gray thread. Normally I would have used navy thread on this quilt, but this time I used dark gray instead of navy so it shows less on the gray backing fabric. This was done on my Handi Quilter Fusion with Pro Stitcher. This is one of my favorite quilting designs as it results in a super soft, snuggly quilt. I love seeing how everything comes out in the finishing touches!
This quilt top was made by one of my professional sewists, Kare Ybarra, and quilted and bound by me.
The Grid Pop quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts Shop.
