Berenstain Bears Baby Quilt {A Finish!}

Take a walk down memory lane with this special Berenstain Bears quilt! We've all enjoyed the classic stories of Papa and Mama Bear with Brother and Sister Bear. I remember so well reading them to my own children, and we would have loved to have this quilt when they were little!  That pile of books is part of the small collection of favorite books that we plan to keep for our grandbabies!

This lovely stack of Bear Country fabric was in my house less than a day before being made into a quilt!  I just couldn't wait to sew it!

The backing is a row of bear fabrics, too!

 Variegated rainbow thread seemed a perfect choice after not being able to envision it with white or black thread; they seemed too harsh.  The rainbow blends in very well and adds a fun touch in the darker areas.  I also did a larger meandering stitch than I usually do.

Fun polka dot binding adds the final touch of POP!

Quilt Stats:
  • Pattern:  My own.
  • Size:  41" x 44"
  • Fabric:  Bear Country Berenstain Bears by Moda, Kona Solids, and a Robert Kaufman dot for the binding.
  • Batting:  80/20 poly/cotton
  • Quilting:  Allover large meandering stitch on Mrs.Bernina, my old 830 which was my grandmother's.
  • Binding:  Double fold, attached by machine.
  • Value:  Memorable!
This quilt is for sale in my Etsy shop!

I can see why you couldn't wait to use the fabric. It is super cute. The rainbow thread is fun. Sometimes I like to use a light gray thread on rainbow fabrics. It seems to blend well with a lot of colors.
