I think this is the first block in this quilt-along that is sewn together in the way I had laid it out! I much prefer cutting the pieces apart after chain-sewing the rows together, but not clipping the few stitches between the segments keeps them in their "proper" place. This is a tip passed on by the quilt-along hostess, Shannon at Modern Tradition Quilts. I usually don't have this much trouble keeping pieces in a block in order because I have worked out a system in my brain to keep track {it involves a lot of talking to myself!}, but for some reason that functionality has not been working on this quilt!
For fun I put the first four blocks out of nine on my design wall. I usually like blocks better without sashing because of the sub-pattern that is created where the blocks meet, but I see these blocks will need some sashing to create some order!
