Modern Plus Quilts Blog Hop | Finished or Not Friday Linky Party!

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

Today is also an extra special day here on the blog - it's my stop on the Modern Plus Sign Quilts book hop!  Cheryl Brickey of Meadow Mist Designs and Paige Alexander of Quilted Blooms have designed 16 quilts based on the Plus Sign block, and there are so many designs to fall in love with in the book!

My Not Finished is two Row Addition baby quilts.  I ♥ this quilt pattern!  My first thought was to make a queen with 20 different grunges, and I even planned it all out in EQ8.  Then I realized I could make two baby quilts to give you ideas on color options for this quick, easy, and fun pattern!  Some boyish chevron fabrics in my stash became the inspiration for which Grunges I used in each quilt.

The second version seems so college preppy, perfect for a newborn boy, right?!?

I had every intention of having these quilts finished for the book hop, even making them quite a bit ahead of time which is not my usual MO, but my longarm began giving me fits while quilting the first quilt and is now in the longarm hospital receiving some special care.  #idonthavetimeforthis #verypoortimingindeed

Quilt Stats:

Pattern:  Row Addition from Modern Plus Quilts
Size:  41" x 46"
Fabric:  Moda Grunge
Backing:  Riley Blake chevron

And here is the Row Addition quilt pictured in the Modern Plus Quilts Book.
Be sure to check out the other stops today in the Modern Plus Quilt book hop!  You can view the full book hop schedule here.  Cheryl and Paige have giveaways during the book hop as well, so be sure to follow along!

Last Week's Feature!

The most viewed link from last week was this beautiful string quilt by The Academic Quilter!  This shows how much scrappy quilts really catch our eye.

If you want your quilt featured here next week, be sure to put a link back to this post in your post or sidebar, or tag @busyhandsquilts on Instagram, AND link directly to your blog post so I don't have to hunt it down.

It's your turn to share your finish {or not}!  What's welcome at this party?
  • Any in-progress or finished project made with fabric, yarn, or thread.
  • Projects from this week only.
  • ♥ ♥ PLEASE!  Link to the actual blog post, not your home page.

  16. I like both versions of the pattern. I see big and little boys in these (maybe even girls, too). Sewing machines can be fickle. Hope your quilting machine recovers soon.
