Welcome to Finished {or Not!} Friday where you can share what you're working on and see what others have been making!
My Finish is a baby size Craftsman quilt in Blooms and Bobbins fabric.
This bundle of 6 Blooms and Bobbins fat quarters arrived in my July 2019 Sew Sampler Box, and less than a week later, this quilt appeared. Yes, less than a week! {{ pats self on back!! }} The 6 fat quarters came with a pattern and zippers for zippered bags, and I knew I would never make them, nor did I have any fabrics in my stash to coordinate with the bundle other than solids to make a larger quilt, so I googled "6 fat quarter quilt pattern", and Craftsman came up. Zip zap zup {a reference to one of our favorite book series about Froggy which I read to the kids years ago}, Craftsman appeared in real life in my sewing room about an hour and a half later! :)

I ♥ making the sashed blocks and hope to design a quilt pattern utilizing them one day.
This super soft gray dot Kaffe Fassett fabric was waiting in my stash and made the perfect backing, so I quilted the quilt top the next day.
Quilt Stats:
Pattern: Craftsman
Size: Baby 41" x 49"
Fabric: Blooms and Bobbins and Kona Snow.
Backing: Kaffee Fassett Gray with cream dots
Quilting: Belly bop on Gratitude in white thread
Binding: Kona Snow
Also included in the July 2019 Sew Sampler Box is a Sew On The Go Wrap that attaches to a sewing machine handle with Velcro so it's more comfortable to carry around, an Olfa Endurance rotary blade, zipper parts, the bag pattern which is not available outside of the box, and a Goodness Grows QAL Block #4 pattern.
If you love receiving little surprises in the mail, the Sew Sampler Box might be just what you need! I ♥ when the box arrives and I have no idea what's inside. That info is all kept in wraps until enough days have passed for quilters to receive their boxes. Click here to read more about Sew Sampler Boxes.
Giveaway!
I give away any items in a Sew Sampler Box that I do not need. From this box, I will be giving away the zipper parts and the bag pattern, as well as the leftover pieces of fabric from these 6 FQs. You'll just need to supply the fabric and stabilizer to make these cute bags. This giveaway is open to US addresses only and ends on Monday, August 6th. Enter via the Rafflecopter below.

ReplyDeleteGReat finish!! Those fabrics play so well together
ReplyDeleteCute baby quilt! Thanks for the link. It joined the many other inspirations for baby quilts! Also, thanks for featuring my quilt and the kudos!
ReplyDeleteWow...that was a real quick finish. Well done. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection of fat quarters, just perfect for a baby quilt. You finished in record time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics turned into a beautiful baby quilt. I read a review of the pattern where someone wasn't happy because directional fabrics didn't turn out the way she thought they should, but yours look fine. I thought, "Just turn them the other way when you cut, then, or don't use directional fabrics!" I like that pattern.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is a great use of the 6 coordinating fat quarters! Love your reference to the Froggy books. My kids loved them too!!
ReplyDeleteLet me join you in patting your busy self on back - that is a pretty baby quilt!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your Craftsman baby quilt. Gorgeous!
