Custom Farmall Tractor Throw Quilt | Last Finished {or Not!} Friday Party at Busy Hands Quilts

Welcome to Finished {or Not!} Friday where you can share what you're working on and see what others have been making!

My Finish is a custom Farmall tractor throw quilt for a friend.  There are the cutest farm scenes with little farmer boys, barns, cows and calves, and of course tractors.

I used loopy hearts for the quilting because this quilt will be a memory quilt to my friend.  Her mom recently passed away, and she found this quilt kit in her mom's things and decided to have it finished.

My friend wanted flannel on the back, and I found a high-quality flannel at Fat Quarter Shop.  The green coordinates with the quilt front much better than this picture portrays.  This fabric is much more substantial than most of the flannels out there.  I prewashed it because flannel is known to shrink more than regular cotton, and I wanted to get any extra dye out as well.  These great quality flannels won't break the bank, and you can find them right here.

Quilt Stats:
Pattern:   Arcadia, available right here.
Size:  Lap  49" x 61"
Fabric:  Fabric International Stripe Border with Farmall fabric and coordinates
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly
Quilting:  Loopy hearts on Gratitude in black thread

Giveaway!

I am giving away the scraps leftover from this quilt.  There are (7) 2-1/2" x WOF strips, scraps, leftover strips sets, quite a bit of border stripes, and some black.  There's enough for a table runner or wall hanging or something small like that.  Winner pays postage of $5.  US addresses only.  Giveaway ends Wednesday, August 21st at midnight.  Enter via Rafflecopter below.

Special Announcement About FONF!

Nine Patch quilt by Sew Yummy!  Y'all thought it was yummy too, because it had a lot of views.

Sew Jess's UP Pixel Quilt!  And that's not a crocodile like I was imagining; it's the Upper Peninsula (of Michigan, I am presuming).  The squares are 1.5" finished - that's 1344 squares to be exact.

Morning Glory Mosaic by Kathleen McMusing!

  6. I think you found a great way to reduce the scraps at your house! =) I know it will feel like something is missing as you hand off to Alycia, but the linky is going to a great new home. I'm waiting to see the new things your life is becoming.
