Midnight Mystery Quilt Along {Aug/Sept Progress}

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Some of my Sewing For Me time this month is getting caught up on quilt alongs I began in 2015.  I've finished August and September clues for the Midnight Mystery Quilt Along.  Those flying geese were nearly the death of me!  They are made with a scant 1/4" seam, and I made them twice with what I thought was a scant seam, and they are still a bit small.  Nope, not making 'em again; I will be able to fudge them in.  Fortunately the square-in-a-square blocks were simple and trimmed up perfectly.

And in case you're a new reader and don't know what Sewing For Me is - I make a lot of custom quilts and don't quilt for myself very often.  I'm taking the month of December to sew for me!

Looks like it's going to be a pretty quilt. I saw the block on another post today and I think I need to find some fabric to make this one.

Congrats on getting somewhat caught up. It won't take long to get fully caught up. The first blocks took a long time to make. You're on the downward slide now.

Love that you've dedicated a month to sewing things for yourself. So smart! Smitten with this quilt, your fabrics and colours are just gorgeous. Happy stitching!

I'm also doing the midnight mystery and still have December clue to finish, you made beat me to it. I love this fabric. I made a quilt with it and just live it. You will love this one!

I love the bright colors you chose! My machine and I are currently at odds regarding a consistent quarter inch seam. I'd like to place all the blame on the machine, but I'm pretty sure that operator error is the real reason. :)
