Honey Honey Patchwork Lap Quilt + Finished or Not Friday {a linky party!}

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

My Finish is a patchwork lap quilt in Honey Honey.  This is why I like hosting Finished or Not Friday - this quilt wouldn't have been finished today if I didn't.

This quilt is a regurgitated chunky race quilt.  Yep, regurgitated.  It turned out so bad without fabric placement planning that I had to cut the strips into 5" segments and sew them back together.  This is why a few of the blocks are made from more than one fabric.  If you'd like to learn how to do a planned Chunky Jelly Race quilt, go check out Jasmine tutorial.  It will save you the headache I gave myself because I didn't follow any plan when sewing the pieces together.

I played around with whirly quilting and had a lot of fun!  I ♥ that border print!

In 2017 I'll be piecing more quilt backs to get more stash off the shelf instead of buying more yardage to match!

The quilt finished at 44" x 60" and is made entirely from Honey Honey by Kate Spain, quilt top, backing, binding, and all.

This quilt is for sale in my Etsy shop.

The most viewed link from last week was A Flock of Cardinals by Not Afraid of Color.

But wait, did you all see this one????  It measures 120" square! It's Changes in the Stars by Quilts and Cakes.  Hop on over to see the actual pictures of the quilt.  {The pictures have people in them, so I didn't share them here.}

Save up to 70% off quilting supplies and kits at Craftsy through Saturday!

You might pick up a Postcard From Sweden kit for the Quilt Along I will be hosting in 2017!  It will begin in March after the rush of other quilt alongs has ebbed and I have returned from visiting my parents in Arizona!

Here's what I bought:

Aria FQs by Kate Spain // Kaleidoscope Kit // Split Square Jewel Kit

All patterns in my Pattern Shop are 25% off through Monday!

Follow Busy Hands Quilts!

It's your turn to share your finish {or not}!  What's welcome at this party?
  • Any in-progress or finished project made with fabric, yarn, or thread is welcome!
  • Projects from this week only!
  • ♥ ♥ PLEASE!  Link to the actual blog post, not your home page.  We'd like to see your post and don't have the time to go hunt it down.
  • Include the Finished or Not Friday button or a text link that links back to this week's link-up in order to share the fun.  No, I won't delete your link if you don't, but hey, adding a link in your post is just being friendly, so be friendly and share!!
I will pin your links to my Finished or Not Friday Pinterest board to get your link more exposure.

I LOVE that Honey Honey fabric, especially the navy floral, one of my all time favorites! The quilt is so pretty, and the pieced back looks great. Nice finish!

What a great baby quilt! I like that all the squares are not one fabric. I was admiring that and then read your post about why. Maybe this was what was supposed to happen all along, because it's great!

I love your regurgitated chunky race quilt. What a great way to salvage something that didn't turn out the first time. :)

Perfect floral border fabric on that quilt! And thank you for hosting a linky, and joining in on Midweek Makers!
