Rosewood Lane Quilt Pattern Update!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

It's Rosewood Lane's turn for an update!  Last year most of my pattern covers were updated, some patterns were also overhauled inside, and I'm down to the last few needing updated.  Now there are only three pattern covers awaiting updating - Home Awaits, Picket Fence, and Falling Stars.

Joyce of Liberty Green Quilt Shop in Akron, Ohio has been a consistent wholesale customer of my quilt patterns.  She requested printed copies of Rosewood Lane after seeing the Rosewood Lane in Anna Maria Horner fabrics that sold in my quilt shop last year and requested an AMH quilt for her shop with pattern covers to match.  Your wish is my command, Joyce!

Here is a picture of part of the Liberty Green Quilt Shop.  Do you recognize any of my quilts hanging there?!?  YES!  I spy Jelly Roll Waves in Alison Glass and a brick quilt in Alison Glass fabrics (no pattern for that one) next to each other on the back wall.  There are more quilts in my patterns hanging around her shop and a display full of my patterns, too.  One of my readers sent me a picture of the pattern display, but I can't seem to find it.  I love it when you send me pics of my designs you see when you're in quilt shops!

Rosewood Lane is a fat quarter friendly quilt pattern that includes 5 sizes - Baby, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King.  The big blocks go together very quickly, and there are no seams to match.  The pattern has been completely rewritten in addition to the updated cover.

Quilt Stats:
Pattern:  Rosewood Lane, available right here.
Size:  56" x 70"
Fabric:  Anna Maria Horner (older collection) plus a few Allison Glass prints, quilt top and binding
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly
Backing:  A black and charcoal gray hatch
Quilting:  Maze on Gratitude, my Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher

Get your own Rosewood Lane quilt in Anna Maria Horner fabrics!

This quilt is available in my quilt shop in your choice of a Throw or Twin size in Anna Maria Horner fabrics as a Made to Order item which ships within two weeks of purchase.  Click here to go to my quilt shop.

Let's Celebrate!

Granny's Square Patch Throw Quilt in Tula Pink!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Granny's Square Patch in Tula Pink is another quilt I made last year but didn't blog about.  I used ultra modern Tula Pink fabrics in this quilt to show that an old fashioned design and modern fabrics can meld quite well.

In keeping with the modern fabrics, I chose a hexie quilting design, though even a feathery design would have looked lovely as well.  Sometimes choosing a quilting design is paralyzing and you've just got to just jump in and GO or it will never get done.

This lovely blue/purple circular design was found in the stash and esteemed perfect for this quilt as backing and binding.

This was one of the first quilts pictured in my new photography room - a.k.a. empty bedroom post kid moving out!  The gray paint turned out more blue than anticipated, but I'm not picky about things like that, so it stays.

Quilt Stats:
Pattern:  Granny's Square Patch, available right here.
Size:  50" x 60"
Fabric:  Tula Pink
Quilting:  Hexies on Gratitude, my Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly
Backing:  Blue/purple circular print, unknown.

This quilt has sold!  You will find more like it in my quilt shop right here!

Did you know that Granny's Square Patch has been kitted by Connecting Threads?  Mmm hmm, it's a lovely red, pink, and cream collection.  Here is the catalog image.  :)   You'll find it right here.

Sunnyside Lap Quilt in Yellows and Grays!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

There is nothing like the recipient of a gift heading out of town to college to get the rockets firing and a quilt finished!  This is a graduation quilt for a special friend moving to attend college in California.  Sunnyside in yellows and grays reflects the sunny skies of California where she is headed and the gray skies of a winter in Bellingham, Washington.

This quilt pattern is named Sunnyside because it's a town near where I grew up, and the quilt is reminiscent of sunshine.  It's most always sunny there and a pleasant enough place if one overlooks the incessant smell of the animal feed lots.  Just sayin'!  As I've often said, naming quilts designs is still a mystery to me, but this one came fairly easily.

The fabric is made from two curated FQ bundles from Fat Quarter Shop - Sunflower Spectrum and an Art Gallery gray bundle.  I can't find the bundle on FQS right now.  These bundles made it so easy to get a wide variety of fabrics, and I love that Art Gallery fabrics do not fray!!  They have a lovely hand and are my favorite fabrics to work with.

The graduate is pursuing a degree in Engineering, so a math equation backing was the obvious choice for her.  This fabric is Science Fair which comes in several colorways.  Click here to check it out.  And then perhaps the spiral quilting indicates waves at the beaches in both California and Washington.  This patterns is FQ friendly and there is a strip left from each FQ that is perfect for binding, so the binding is pieced with every other strip gray and yellow in 21" lengths.

Quilt Stats:
Pattern:  Sunnyside, available right here.
Size:  56" x 72" Large Lap
Fabric:  Art Gallery Sunflower Spectrum and an Art Gallery FQ bundle in gray.  The whites are from a FQ bundle of Modern Background by Moda.
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly
Backing:  Science Fair in gray.
Quilting:  Spirals in white thread on Gratitude, my Handiquilter Fusion with Prostitcher.

Printed Pattern Sale With FREE Shipping Available!

A number of my printed patterns are on sale!  I'm clearing out the old covers to make room for the updated covers.  Sunnyside is one of them!  The inside of the quilt patterns are full of the same deliciousness, just with an older cover.  The quantities are very limited - most of the patterns have ten or less left, and several have just a handful.  So get them while you can because PRINTED patterns very rarely go on sale.  :)  Oh, and orders $35 and up receive FREE shipping!  Shop right here!

Jelly Roll Waves Quilt Along | Finished Quilts!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Thank you to all who have quilted along in the Jelly Roll Waves Quilt Along!  Today the linkup for finished quilts opens.  It's time to see your beautiful quilts all finished up!

I finished two Jelly Roll Waves quilts for the quilt along.  First up is a Large Lap in mostly Scrumptious prints by Bonnie and Camille.

The feminine quilting really brings the quilt top to life.

Last year I traded Andrea a large box of Bonnie and Camille fabric for custom quilting, and all of the fabric in this quilt, including the backing and binding, came from that box.  Sew fun!

This quilt was made using traditional piecing, sewing one piece at a time together, because I was using strips of fabric rather than yardage.  They weren't actually jelly roll strips; they were layer cakes that had been cut into strips already.  The pattern includes strip piecing as well as traditional piecing which speeds up the process.  Either way you piece, though, it still goes together very quickly.

I made the second Jelly Roll Waves quilt differently than any of the JRW quilts I've made before.  This time low volumes were placed as the waves rather than as the background, and the prints were placed as the background which created sparkling, multi-colored gems on the edges of the waves.  The result is a truly modern quilt for a subtle splash of color over the sofa.

All fabrics in the quilt top are from Alison Glass collections - Sun Print Light and various Sun Print collections.  This quilt was strip pieced from strips of fabric using a Fat Quarter bundle of AG Sun Print Lights.

Quilting is a modern design that looks like flames or wood bark, whichever you see it as.

Backing is a black and medium gray hatch print, and the matching binding brings a striking, bold frame to the quilt.

This quilt will be for sale in my quilt shop!

Custom Farmall Tractor Throw Quilt | Last Finished {or Not!} Friday Party at Busy Hands Quilts

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Welcome to Finished {or Not!} Friday where you can share what you're working on and see what others have been making!

My Finish is a custom Farmall tractor throw quilt for a friend.  There are the cutest farm scenes with little farmer boys, barns, cows and calves, and of course tractors.

I used loopy hearts for the quilting because this quilt will be a memory quilt to my friend.  Her mom recently passed away, and she found this quilt kit in her mom's things and decided to have it finished.

My friend wanted flannel on the back, and I found a high-quality flannel at Fat Quarter Shop.  The green coordinates with the quilt front much better than this picture portrays.  This fabric is much more substantial than most of the flannels out there.  I prewashed it because flannel is known to shrink more than regular cotton, and I wanted to get any extra dye out as well.  These great quality flannels won't break the bank, and you can find them right here.

Quilt Stats:
Pattern:   Arcadia, available right here.
Size:  Lap  49" x 61"
Fabric:  Fabric International Stripe Border with Farmall fabric and coordinates
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly
Quilting:  Loopy hearts on Gratitude in black thread

Giveaway!

I am giving away the scraps leftover from this quilt.  There are (7) 2-1/2" x WOF strips, scraps, leftover strips sets, quite a bit of border stripes, and some black.  There's enough for a table runner or wall hanging or something small like that.  Winner pays postage of $5.  US addresses only.  Giveaway ends Wednesday, August 21st at midnight.  Enter via Rafflecopter below.

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Love Multiplied Lap Quilt in Seaside | Finished or Not Friday Linky Party!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Welcome to Finished {or Not!} Friday where you can share what you're working on and see what others have been making!

So I did forget to schedule Finished {or Not!} Friday again.  It may have something to do with my worrying about this winter storm with snow.  :(  I worry because I have many peoples whom I ♥♥♥ on the road when classes aren't canceled.  That's nice word order, right??  It sounds like I love them only when classes aren't canceled.  ;)

Another 2018 finish is a Love Multiplied Lap Quilt - a Plus Quilt set on point!

This delightful fabric is Seaside by Tasha Noel for Riley Blake.  Last year I custom quilted a baby quilt for Andrea in this collection, and I fell in love with the fabric and somehow a stack of it made its way into my mailbox!

My Love Multiplied pattern has been completely updated and rewritten.  The pattern cover includes fabric requirements for Fat Quarters and Yardage, and inside the pattern is the Bonus information of how many identical charm packs will make each size.

Printed patterns will be available as soon as I can pick them up from the printer ... and will be available wholesale as well.

So why not have a sale?  Save on Love Multiplied in my pattern shop!

Quilt Stats:
Pattern:  Love Multiplied
Fabric:  Seaside by Tasha Noel for Riley Blake.
Size:  51" x 70"
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton poly
Quilting:  Swirls on Gratitude in white thread
