Moda Love Layer Cake Lap Quilt in Birch Farm | Finished or Not Friday Linky Party!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Welcome to Finished {or Not!} Friday where you can share what you're working on and see what others have been making!

My Finish is a Birch Farm layer cake lap quilt!  This fabric has been in the stash for a long time, last used two years ago to make a Triple Barn Star lap quilt.

The coordinating backing is one of my favorite prints from the collection.  See those cute owls?  I used the owl fabric as the binding to create a frame of pop.

The pattern calls for layer cake squares, but I had only scraps to use, so the pieces are smaller and the quilt not as large as the pattern.

Quilt Stats:
Pattern:  Moda Love Layer Cake Quilt, a free pattern
Fabric:  Birch Farm by Joel Dewberry
Size:  56" square
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton poly
Quilting:  A flame design on Gratitude in white thread

This quilt is for sale in my quilt shop!

Have you heard about the demise of a ton of Craftsy pattern shops?

Many Craftsy Marketplace shops were nixed by Craftsy at the end of 2018, and most shops that remained had a lot of patterns removed from them.  My shop survived, but only three quilt patterns remain.  It's a huge bummer indeed.

You will find all of my quilt pattern in my Etsy pattern shop, Busy Hands Patterns.

Last Week's Finished {or Not} Friday Features!

Your quilt is very pretty, I love the pattern, and your fabrics. Love the Neighbor quilt too!

That's a great use of scraps from a beautiful fabric line.

Hi Myra! I am so sorry to hear that so many people's shops were closed by Craftsy. Do you plan to keep your three patterns there or move them all to Etsy? Just curious. I wonder how they decided that three could stay. Beautiful finish for today and how wonderful that you were able to make it using scraps. That's always a wonderful feeling, isn't it? It's almost like a free quilt! Happy Friday. ~smile~ Roseanne

What a beautiful quilt - thank you for the link to the pattern. And yes - So sad about craftsy - glad you have all your patterns elsewhere!

Congrats on the finish. Question: How do you hang your quilts to get your photos? Especially the first photo. It's sad about Craftsy.

Hi Myra,
I had the same experience with Craftsy as you. My shop has been kept, but I only have 3 items in it! Drastically down from before. If you hear anything about when they plan on letting us add more patterns, please share with me. They are being very vague about it.
