I'm participating in the Grand Illusion Mystery Quilt-Along hosted by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville! What is the pattern, you ask? I've no idea; it's a mystery!
These are my fabric selections, minus the grays in the top row. My expert color coordinator, my 13-year-old daughter, recommended leaving the grays out for more boldness. Whenever I have a color question, I ask for her advice, and she has never led me astray yet! I was using the grays to fill in for blacks but decided to order a few more black dottie dots instead of using grays.
Fabric colors and yardage requirements can be found here. The first mystery clue was revealed yesterday, and I've cut the strips for the first block. I'm waiting on the Easy Angle template to arrive before cutting the strips further. It is really different to pick a fabric and cut it when its location in the quilt or what the quilt pattern even looks like is unknown! The only information given in this clue is what colorway to use and what to do with it.
Did you notice the theme of my fabrics?

Craftsy has an amazing sale on video classes at $19.99 or less! I am purchasing My First Sweater class which I have been eyeing for a long time! I am a very basic knitter, and this class is just what I need to move to the next level.
A Craftsy class is a fabulous gift for the crafty person on your list!

I love your fabric choices for Bonnie's Mystery Quilt. Yours is the first I've seen that I really like, because it's very modern looking. Looking forward to seeing more of your quilt as you complete the steps.
