I recently finished two gift quilts - a table runner for my mom and another a wall hanging for my sister. Both were made from a Craftsy Custom Table Runner kit. There are enough triangles left for either two more table runners or one larger wall hanging; projects that are now circling in "on hold" status. My other sister has living room curtains in these colors, so maybe she will get a matching quilt, too!!
I recently visited my parents at their winter home in Yuma, AZ, and wanted to make my mom a quilt of some kind for their new home. This table runner kit from Craftsy matched their guest room where I stayed perfectly! This picture looks like it's out of a magazine or catalog or even Craftsy, but it is really in their guest room, taken on my Dad's phone!
The kit came with Kona White, which I swapped out for Kona Snow. I also changed the size of the table runner to fit the dresser in the room.
For the backing and binding I used an aqua ombre print from the stash.
On my Arizona trip, I also visited one of my sisters and found that she was hoarding away some bedroom curtains and linens for the future. My other sister and I convinced her that she needed to get them out and use them now! Wouldn't you know, she listened to us, and this table runner kit also matched her bedroom perfectly! Her quilt is a wall hanging, complete with rod pocket for hanging! {We've a joke about rod pockets on quilts because I did not put a rod pocket on a previous quilt I gave her, which I knew she was going to hang on the wall - my bad!!} This quilt is something like 28" square.
Gray backing with Kona Citron {or something like that} for the binding - both from the stash!
This is the fabric that comes in the Craftsy kit {the white is not pictured}. It's a mix of fat quarters and fat eighths.
The quilt kit comes with instructions for making an HST quilt, but I've made so many and have a few more on the schedule that I wanted a break from them. Plus, I wanted to use an Accuquilt die that I hadn't used before - the isosceles triangle! Using a black Sharpie, I write the size of the fabric strip needed for each of my Accuquilt dies so I don't have to figure that out each time I use that die. By the way, Accuquilt dies are up to $10 off this month!
A pile of isosceles triangles is cut in very short order! I ♥ my Accuquilt Go!
And I've a fairly large pile of triangles left for a 30" square wall hanging or two table runners! Can you believe the value in this Craftsy kit? I find Craftsy kits often include more fabric than necessary {especially the ones with fat quarter bundles included}, so be sure to check out how much fabric is in a kit before thinking the price is too high. For instance, I purchased this kit for just under $25, which I think is a lot of money for fabric for one table runner. With it making three or four quilts, it ends up being a terrific value! And that's why I ♥ Craftsy quilt kits!
