Finished or Not Friday {a Linky Party!} + a Giveaway!

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

My first finish to share this week is Summer Solstice.  Since I posted about it yesterday, I won't repeat all the details, and you can go read about the quilt HERE.  This quilt is for sale in my Etsy shop!

I made this cute grocery bag yesterday as an easy project to relax my brain after working so hard on Summer Solstice.  The outside is a decorator fabric, and the inside and handles are a Riley Blake gingham print.  The bag took one hour total, including cutting time, and I'm fairly certain I can make it quicker when I make a batch of bags for myself.  {I live in Bagless Bellingham, so I carry bags with me everywhere I go.}

The bag is made from a pattern by Michelle's Patterns, an Indie Designer on Craftsy.  You can find the pattern HERE.  The pattern includes three sizes, and this bag is the medium size.  The handles are designed to fit onto the metal bag holders at the grocery store to make filling them easier, and the handles are short enough to not drag the bag on the ground when carried {super important for height-impaired people like me!}

I am giving away this bag to one lucky reader!

There are two ways to enter to win, and you can do both.
  1.  Add your link to the linky party below.  For this to count as an entry, your blog post must contain a link back to Finished or Not Friday.
  2.  Leave a comment on this blog post, letting me know if you'd like to participate in a sew along for the Trip Around the World quilt shown below.
This giveaway is open to US addresses only.  Giveaway ends next Thursday when the linky ends, and the winner will be announced at next week's Finished or Not Friday Party.

Last week's most viewed link was Country Stars UFO by Pamela Quilts!  Isn't it sweet!?!

My favorite link was this cute lil' fox by Sue at Suebee's World!  He can visit me anytime!  I would NOT use him as a pin cushion!

Oh, yes, one more thing to mention before we get to the party!  Craftsy is having a Farewell Summer Clearance Sale starting today!

I've already bought this Trip Around the World quilt kit and plan to make it this fall.

If you want to sew this together, leave a comment to let me know and I'll plan a sew along with prizes if there is interest!

It's your turn to share your finish {or not}!  What's welcome at this party?  Any in-progress or finished project made with fabric, yarn, or thread is welcome!  Include the Finished or Not Friday button or a text link that links back to this week's link-up in order to share the fun.  No, I won't delete your link if you don't, but hey, adding a link in your post is just being friendly, so be friendly and share!!

I will pin your links to my Finished or Not Friday Pinterest board to get your link more exposure.

  1. I love bags and use them all the time. I have never made a Trip Around The World quilt. I wondered if I could participate using scraps.

  3. Your Summer Solstice quilt is so pretty! It just glows. I love the black background with the brights. I take kits apart all the time, and this was really worth it. The TATW quilt looks like it will be spectacular, too. So much great work!
