Busy Hands Quilts: Trip Around the World Quilt Along {Quilt Top Assembly!}

The Quilt Along will run from today, Monday, October 10th through December 5th with two weeks between each step.

Monday, October 10th: Fabric selection
Monday, October 24th: Quilt Along begins with sewing strip sets and tubes together and cutting into segments.
YOU ARE HERE! Monday, November 7th: Assembly of sections and quilt top.
Monday, November 21st: Finished quilts!
Quilt Along ends December 5th with a Finished Quilt Grand Parade!

Today we're ripping seams, piecing rows and assembling the four quadrants. This is steps 1-5 on pages 4 and 5, as well as steps 1-4 on pages 6-8. If you do not have the pattern by Nancy Smith, refer to this tutorial at Quiltville. Here's my four quadrants, not yet assembled into the quilt top. It's the sparkliest quilt I've ever made!

Pressing the seams in the directions indicated in the pattern results in super easy quadrant assembly. I didn't use any pins, just made sure each seam nested perfectly, and it went so fast!
