My Finish is a rectangle brick lap quilt in True Colors and Moda Cross Weave. I made the strip sets last summer when writing a quilt pattern but didn't end up using them. Did you know that leaving a project as a WIP actually means you finish it faster when you finally pick it up to work on it again?!? 😝 It's proven fact, seriously! Try it out, and you'll see for yourself that it's true!
The tutorial I loosely followed is Jelly Roll Strip Stash Buster over at Cluck Cluck Sew. Hmm, when I look at that tutorial again, I see that my method is actually entirely different with a different outcome. I used 5 strips per strip set and made two types of strip sets - one with a background strip in the top position, and the other with a print in the top position. The strip sets were then cut into 4.5" segments and sewn together into 10" x 14" blocks in random order.
If you want to see more rectangle quilts, check out Katy's over at KatyQuilts; she has the corner on making them. You'll find hers over here. She has an entirely different method, cut with her Accuquilt fabric cutter.
The quilting design is Belly Bop which is a rounder version of Diagonal Bias Plaid.

Last Week's Feature!
Anja's Scattered Squares, a quilt pattern she tested for Sarah Goer Quilts. Hats off to those of you who test quilt patterns! It's kinda scary to cut into a pile of fabric when there is a possibility that the directions are wrong and then you don't have enough fabric to make the quilt. And On Ringo Lake QAL by Feathers in My Nest. Anyone who makes quilts with units this small needs a shout out!
If you want your quilt featured here next week, be sure to put a link back to this post in your post or sidebar, or tag @busyhandsquilts on Instagram, AND link directly to your blog post so I don't have to hunt it down.

Your fabrics go really nicely with that cross weave background. If only I had some old WIP to pull out from the closet....but I do have 4 current ones that need to be finished! I never put them away, so they can't get forgotten.
I like your quilt! Its very colorful!!
What a pretty quilt! Love the rainbow and the background fabric used! Makes me want to chop up some scraps!
I like your theory about quilts getting finished going faster once they've been a UFO! If so, I have a lot of quilts that are going to be finished this year! I think your quilt is fantastic! And thanks for the links to finding more rectangle quilts. I have a bunch of rectangle scraps and have been looking for patterns to use them.
I love this quilt and can't believe the rectangles are only 2x4", they look bigger. I have the die and this is great for using up the scraps. I have to put it on my list to just spend some time die cutting.
Very cute quilt, Myra! I always admire how you mix the colors I really dislike (like gray) with the ones I think are beautiful to come up with something spectacular. Have a great weekend!
I love how you alternated grey with your bricks!!!!
Love your finish, Myra. So beautiful, so simple but oh so neatly done. Perfect way to show off all the treasures in your stash. I am drooling and I am so jealous!!!
Great rectangle quilt! Funny how sometimes that happens when we kinda sorta don't follow a pattern!
Beautiful lap quilt, I love the colors combo!
Thanks for featuring my quilt. I figure if there's an error, it's time to improvise and end up with a smaller or different quilt. LOL
