Welcome to Finished {or Not!} Friday where you can share what you're working on and see what others have been making!
I have a finish to show you! This is a custom baby quilt made for a long-time friend from my childhood. Aren't the fabrics just the sweetest ever?!?
The X and O blocks were so fun to make - and super easy - out of coordinating navy and seafoam green.
This is quilt number three that I have finished in 2019, two of which have been sent to a local quilter. {{holds palm to forehead}} Dividing out the 70 quilts I made last year, assuming I made them at an even pace all year long, I would have made 26 quilts by this time in mid April. But no worries, you have more quilt patterns coming your way this year!
I've never quilted with minky before, so I would have sent this quilt out to have it quilted even if my machine hadn't been out for maintenance. I need to make a practice blanket with it before I commit to using it on a customer quilt.
But ... I'm just too busy to practice quilting with my absent longarm. Ha Ha. I have 10 quilt patterns for fabric companies with deadlines in April and have completed 5 of them with 5 to go. {{Take a deep breath, you can do it!}}

Love those fabrics! Minky isn't that difficult. Just don't stretch it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute quilt! and Yay for a finish. The back is wonderful too!
ReplyDeleteHi Myra! Oh goodness, those five deadlines are close. But you certainly CAN do it. I have not quilted on minky but it sure does look tempting. I know my sweet new great niece would love it - she likes the textures. Happy Friday, friend. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is fabulous! I love the fabrics, the quilting pattern, and the minky backing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up! I absolutely love the animal silhouettes and the color combination of that little quilt.
ReplyDeleteEgad, you have it worse (or better, ha) than I did with two deadlines for quilts, one in mid- Feb and the other last week... FIVE?? You can do it! Sleep when you're dead, right?! I LOVE this baby quilt, yes, it's awesome fabric and a great design!
ReplyDeleteHi Myra, that is a really gorgeous quilt. I love the combination of blocks and woodland fabric. It's going to be well loved!
