Picket Fence Square Throw Quilt
I'm excited to share with you the Picket Fence quilts I began this spring and which are finally finished! This is two of them.
Layer Cake and Fat Quarter Friendly
Picket Fence is a layer cake and fat quarter friendly quilt pattern, just add a background fabric and you're good to go! Don't have layer cakes or fat quarters? No problem! Just use your stash or scrap bins and cut the number of pieces indicated in the pattern in the fat quarter cutting instructions.Fabric Selection
Vintage Verona is a lovely fabric collection with large and small florals, geometrics, and plaids. Oh, the plaids! One in every colorway - green, orange, and navy! Kona Nautical is the perfect complement to Vintage Verona and is currently the go-to navy in my stash.
Two Layouts - Rotated Blocks and Vertical
Below is the second layout with all pieced blocks oriented vertically. One of you made your Picket Fence quilt like this, and the idea took off! It lends itself to a more modern look, I think.7 Quilt Sizes - Including Two Throw and Queen Sizes!!
Picket Fence includes two Throw and Queen sizes - cause I'm all about spoiling you! Both have square and rectangular options. This quilt with the pieced blocks placed vertically is the rectangular throw size, and the quilt above with the pieced blocks placed both horizontally and vertically is the square throw size.
Quilting
This version is quilted in Diagonal Bias Plaid, a favorite quilting design of mine. It's monotonous repeat adds a lot of interest to a quilt, though that seems like an oxymoron, doesn't it?!? Thread choice is Navy from Superior Omni.
