Popping In With a Quilt Backing Sale!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

For just a couple of days, Fat Quarter Shop has quilt backing and wide yardage on sale.  I love extra-wide backing which is usually cheaper than piecing together yardage and saves a lot of time and hassle.  I couldn't resist this full-on rainbow backing, which I purchased and am going to make a whole cloth quilt for myself with.  Can I just say, YUM!?!  Check it out right  here.  You'll be happy to know I didn't buy it all and saved some for ya.  :)

At first I thought I would use a blue plaid as the backing because I'd never get tired of seeing a beautiful blue {click here to go right to that beautiful backing.}  However, I have some Widescreen backing in gray already in my stash, so I'll be using that.

And then while I was shopping the 20% off Basic of the Month, this fabric caught my eye as the perfect black background fabric, so it's now coming home with me too.  :)  A whole ginormous bolt!  It's only $6.38 a yard.  Just sayin'.  See it right here.

You'll find all of the backings linked to from the slider image on Fat Quarter Shop's home page right here.

Sweet Treasures Quilt Fabric Shop {my Honest Review!}

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

I've a new favorite online quilt fabric shop - Sweet Treasures Quilts!  They are the first shop I've ever ordered from that tore the backing fabric!  This is so exciting because it means that the entire amount I order is usable!  I always order 1/2 yard extra of extra-wide backing in order to have enough left after I tear the raw edges to straighten them up so they go on the quilting rails straight, and I don't have to order extra from Sweet Treasures!  I've torn off as much as 3/8 yard before - such a waste!  You can find their backing section here.  If you've struggled getting extra-wide backing straight on the rails, tearing the edges might be the solution.

If I order from a shop and they tear the edges of regular quilting cottons, which does happen occasionally, I won't be ordering from them again.  Extra-wide backing is a whole 'nother deal.

The backing and binding on Brick Cottage Lane {the first one} is extra wide red check from the Vintage Picnic collection, and I ♥ how soft it is, so I decided to use it for the backing and binding on Brick Cottage Lane {2} in the dark blue colorway.  Most of the fabric in Brick Cottage Lane {2} is Vintage Picnic by Bonnie and Camille, so this is the perfect backing and binding.

So here's an unpaid, unendorsed, non-sponsored shout out to Sweet Treasures!
