Today I'm sharing a scrappy Skyline Divide Throw quilt. The Skyline Divide quilt pattern has been updated with a new pattern cover and is yardage and jelly roll strip friendly.
For this Skyline Divide quilt I used my current favorite fabric collection, Notting Hill.
Skyline Divide is a fun and modern strip pieced quilt. Sizes include Baby all the way through King.
Two Layout Options
The Skyline Divide quilt pattern includes two layout options. The first option uses five fabrics, and all of the blocks in the quilt are identical. You'll find a sweet gray with pink Flower Sugar version right over here.
The second layout option is scrappy, for which fat quarters, jelly roll strips, or scrap strips can be used, along with a background fabric. This Notting Hill quilt is made following the scrappy layout, and placement of the fabrics is random, and very few blocks end up being identical.
Precut Friendly
Skyline Divide is precut friendly for the scrappy layout. Instructions include using fat quarters and jelly roll strips. This is a great stash-busting quilt pattern!
Longarm Quilting
The longarm quilting design on this quilt is a fairly new-to-me design which I found when looking for a another spiral design to add to my collection. This is Curling Ribbons, a digital design, quilted with my HandiQuilter Fusion with ProStitcher in navy thread. I love the varying sizes of the spirals without ending up with some areas with sparse quilting and some areas with dense quilting.
Oh Those Fabrics!
This Skyline Divide Throw quilt is made with Notting Hill, a beautiful fabric collection by Amy Smart for Riley Blake. Prints include large and small florals, polka dota, plaids, ginghams, and ditties in navy blue, red, pink, aqua, and green. The colors are a bit muted/faded and have an old-fashioned flair. I ♥ to include as many sizes as possible in my patterns, and Skyline Divide is no exception. You're much more likely to use the pattern more than once when all of the sizes are included! These are the sizes included in the pattern:
