Meet Primrose - A New Jelly Roll Quilt Pattern!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

I am so thrilled to introduce a new quilt pattern with you called Primrose!  Primrose is a timeless 9-patch design that takes you back to a simpler time.  You will definitely find yourself coming back to this pattern again and again because it is so much fun to work with!

This is a quilt design that has everything you'd want in a pattern - multiple sizes, two piecing methods, and the opportunity to play around with your favorite fabrics!  The following images are mockups of Primrose in a variety of modern and classic fabric collections that I adore.  All of these mockups are made in the Throw size.

The Primrose quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Primrose - a design you'll love!

Primrose is a simple 2-1/2" Jelly Roll friendly pattern that offers two methods of assembly - Strip and Traditional Piecing.  Strip Piecing sews together strips of fabric which are then cut into segments and sewn together again.  This method requires using more background fabric in some of the size options.  Traditional Piecing is recommended for those seeking a relaxing and simple project sewing individual squares together.

Stars and Stripes Throw Quilt - a new Quilt Pattern in Dazzle Dots Cool Hues!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

I am excited to introduce you to my newest quilt design called Stars and Stripes!  This design is quick and easy yet makes a stunning quilt that you'll be proud to share.  This pattern was inspired by Picket Fence - a long-time favorite quilt pattern of mine.  All of the sizes are included with this design, and the scrappy stars option is fat quarter friendly!

Click here to check out Picket Fence.

Get the Stars and Stripes quilt pattern in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Introducing Stars and Stripes

The Stars and Stripes quilt pattern combines sparkling stars with pieced stripe blocks to make a truly show-stopping quilt!  I love creating quilt patterns with stars scattered playfully across the quilt top like this design does.  It makes the quilt stand out and gives it more character.

There are two star options with this bright and sparkly design - you can use fat quarters to make the scrappy stars and stripe blocks or make identical stars from yardage of two prints with jelly roll strips for the pieced blocks.  Either option works terrifically!

Stars and Stripes is a play on Picket Fence with the pieced strip blocks encircling the sparkling stars, just as the pieced blocks encircle a large fabric square in Picket Fence.  All quilt sizes preserve this layout of the pieced stripe blocks.  You'll find the Picket Fence pattern right here.

All Sizes Included

I wanted to give you all the possible size options for you to make your own Stars and Stripes quilt.  This pattern includes 8 sizes, which are - Wall, Lap, Throw, Large Throw, Twin, Square Queen, Rectangle Queen, and King.  Each size preserves the pattern of pieced stripe blocks encircling the star blocks.

Dazzling Fabrics

For this quilt, I used the Dazzle Dots fabric collection by Christa Quilts for Benartex.  The name of the fabric says it all; the material has dots beautifully scattered across the stars and stripes.  I chose the greens and blues from the collection to create a soothing Throw sized quilt in cool colors. With the crisp Kona Nautical background, isn't the quilt just -- dazzling?  ðŸ˜Š✨

You can shop for Dazzling Dots fabric here.

The backing fabric is a Hash Dot print in Turquoise, available in the shop right here.  The binding is a navy blue dot print from the Dazzle Dots collection, double fold and attached by machine for durability.

Stars and Stripes Quilt Kits!

Connecting Threads has kitted Stars and Stripes in red and blue fabrics on a background of white to create a stunning patriotic quilt.  You can check out the quilt kits right here.

Crisscross Baby Quilt in Dewdrop!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

I have been on a quilting-kick the last couple of weeks and just finished another stunning quilt.  This design is Crisscross, an old-fashioned modern quilt pattern that is super quick and easy and includes 8 quilt sizes.

This is the Baby size, sweetly displayed on my grandson's crib.  :)

The Crisscross quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Say hello to Crisscross!

If you are someone who is looking to gain more experience under the needle, then Crisscross would be the perfect pattern to start with!  Crisscross has easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions, charts, and diagrams for cutting and piecing this marvelous quilt.

Crisscross is partially strip pieced to help speed up the process and even helps with accuracy.  Select three fabrics in the same colorway with an accent.  If you are looking for a quick and simple design to work with, then give Crisscross a try!

Includes 8 sizes

The Crisscross quilt pattern includes 8 sizes in all - Baby, Throw, Large Throw, Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, and King.  So if you are looking for a quick and easy design with lots of size options, then this is the pattern for you!

The Crisscross quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Lovely Fabrics

For this quilt, I used the Dewdrop fabric collection by Windham Fabrics and Kona Cotton White.  Dewdrop is an older fabric collection that came in a rainbow of fabrics, each made with several hues of the color along with metallic gold flecks that adds a bright sparkle.  For this quilt, the black and gray prints were selected to make this quilt stand out.  I made this quilt in the Baby size, which measures approximately 42" x 51".  The binding is also from the Dewdrop collection.  The backing is Basic Shades in Granite by Riley Blake Designs, available here.

Longarm Quilting

I quilted Crisscross using Maze by Keryn Emmerson, available at IntelligentQuilting.com, using Superior Omni thread in Light Gray.  This was quilted on my HandiQuilter Amara with ProStitcher.

The Crisscross quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.
