Pixelation Twin Quilt in Hometown Americana Redwork Traditions!

Today's quilt share is a Pixelation quilt in the Twin size in timeless red and cream!  This quilt is available as a kit right here.

Pixelation is a quick and easy quilt pattern with a number of color options.  It easily makes a rainbow, gradient quilt with several colors, or a single colorway as shown in this quilt.

The Pixelation quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts pattern shop.

Pixelation Quilt Pattern

Pixelation is a quick and easy quilt pattern.  It's strip pieced (of course!) for a simple finish and is possibly a weekend quilt, depending on the speed of your sewing.

This quilt top is made by my professional sewist Kare and quilted and bound by me.

This quilt pattern includes a ton of sizes - 7 in all!  The blocks in the smallest quilts are very tiny and range up to larger blocks in the King size.  I've done all of the math for you.

The pattern includes instructions for the following sizes:

    Placemat 16" x 16"

    Mini 24" x 24"

    Wall 32" x 32"

    Baby 40" x 40"

    Throw 64" x 64"

Twin 66" x 88" - this is the size of this quilt.

    Queen 96" x 96"

    King 108" x 96"

I have made the Placemat in a batik rainbow (which started the whole design idea), several Throw quilts, as well as several Twin quilts.  Below is the Rainbow Placemat, a Sunrise Twin quilt, and a Grayscale Twin quilt.  This quilt design is very difficult to photograph, and the actual quilts are much more stunning than shown.  True that!

Pixelation Quilt Kit

This quilt is made with the Hometown Americana Redwork Traditions fabric collection from Connecting Threads, and the Twin size quilt kit is available right here.  The fabric order goes from cream to deep red with a wide range of prints in between.  While some of the quilt appears pink in the photos, all fabrics are red and cream.

Fabric Selection

No background fabric is needed in the Pixelation quilt.  The design is created from nine fabrics in a gradating order.

Here are some fabric selection ideas:

A single colorway as shown here - red - with hues that range from light to dark.  The white/black quilt above also falls into this category.

Three colors, as in the Sunrise quilt shown above, yellow to orange to red.  What about gray to white to navy, or tan to cream to gray?  So many awesome color options fall into this category!  :)

Two colors, such as red to blue.

A rainbow from pink to red is always a hit! 🌈🌈🌈

Quick and Easy Pixelation Quilt Pattern

This is a super quick and super fun quilt pattern which you can easily sew up in an afternoon or so.  Pixelation uses strip piecing for quick sewing.  If you don't have a lot of time, this is the perfect pattern for a fast finish.

As is standard in all of my patterns, pressing instructions are given so all of the seams will nest at the quilt top assembly step.  You're free to go rogue and use ZERO pins, as I do, or pin to your heart's content if you so desire.

Longarm Quilting

Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite digital quilting designs for floral quilts.  This quilt is quilted on my HandiQuilter Fusion with ProStitcher in cream thread.

The Pixelation quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts pattern shop.
