Magic Garden Lap Quilt
The Magic Garden collection of fabric has lovely fabrics that I didn't want to cut up into small pieces.  I thought of one of the quilts by Kelly at My Quilt Infatuation, called Bohemian Charm.  I pretty much followed her quilt layout exactly.  I enjoyed getting the strips laid out just right on my design wall and watching the pattern come alive.  It is not a traditional rail fence even though at first glance it might look like it.  It's a tad more complicated than that and gives a quilter's eye pause as she tries to figure out the layout.

All fabrics are Magic Garden from Blend Fabrics, quilt top, backing, binding, and all.  These fabrics were purchased last year from Craftsy.  They have a fabulous fabric selection, in case you didn't know that already!

This is the first time I have used Heat Press to fuse batting pieces together, and it worked great!  My main concern with using this product was that the batting is put under some pressure when turning the rollers on my long-arm machine, and the Heat Press kept the two pieces adhered together perfectly and didn't release either piece of batting, although I should add that the Heat Press seam ran vertical to the roller, not horizontal along it.  Also, I didn't even know when I was quilting over it as it needled perfectly!  The Heat Press also went through the wash just fine, and I'd venture to say you wouldn't be able to tell where the seam is - I can't!
