This giant pile of blocks are for twin and lap HST quilts, a custom order through my Etsy shop. That's 450 blocks awaiting trimming! I placed them next to the sewing machine to show how high the pile really is, but do notice the machine is set into the cabinet.
I have learned through the Aiming for Accuracy QAL that I really prefer pressing HST seams open. I run my fingernail over the seam allowance, pressing it open, and it ends up fully open and nice and straight every time. With these blocks, I plan to use my Bloc Loc ruler to trim them, so the seams are all pressed to one side so the ruler will "lock" into the seam and prevent the ruler from slipping. Do you want to come over for an afternoon and trim blocks with me?
These quilts are in memory of my customer's daughter who passed away. She was a paramedic, and these are her scrubs. I find myself thinking about her a lot as I work on this project, and I know she loved children since the shirts are all fun, juvenile prints.
PSSST: I'm hosting Building Blocks Tuesday for the next two weeks - June 16th and 23rd!!

Ha, ha! You'll just have to find something to entertain you while you trim. I like to watch a show. I take my ironing board to my room with my rotating mat and sit on the end of my bed.
What a great idea to make a quilt from the scrubs. It will be a great memory.
