Custom Checkerboard Quilts {Progress #2 Strip Piecing}

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

My next custom order is two twin Checkerboard quilts made from mens shirts and Kona Snow.  I've begun sewing and pressing strips to create 16 patches which will be used to make the checkerboard design.  The first quilt is due a few weeks, so this project is my main focus now, although I always have my hands in several project bins at once to keep sane.

This is my final custom quilt order for 2015.  If you are wanting a custom quilt in 2016, please contact me now!  After completing this order, I will be sewing for myself for the rest of the year.  I also have plans to watch my new Craftsy classes, read more books, pick up the crochet afghan I started last winter, perhaps learn to knit socks with Michelle over at Michelle's Romantic Tangle, and do a whole bunch of meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking.

Today, Wednesday, October 6th, is the last day to get in on Craftsy's amazing deal!  It's an All-Access Class Pass for October!  For $19.99, you get access to every single Craftsy classes for the month of October.  It's a great way to preview classes, download patterns, and be inspired! I'm focusing on classes I wouldn't normally buy - like applique and cooking - and I'm learning so much!  There won't be as much sewing going on here this month because I'll be busy watching Craftsy classes as much as possible!  Get yours today!

The checkerboard quilt is looking good! It's nice that all the shirts play well together.
