Happy Galentine's Day Rainbow Mug Rug in Island Batik Fabrics!

The fabrics featured in this post were given to me by Island Batik.

Did you see the reveal of what was inside my Island Batik Ambassador box?  If you missed that, go check out that post - it has a yummy Giveaway!  Inside that box was a rainbow, and I've already stitched it up into a delightful mug rug!

I don't think I have used the walking foot on my Juki since I got my computerized longarm, Gratitude, last spring.  The walking foot made quick work of the stitch-in-the-ditch quilting in invisible thread.

You may be wondering why my mug rug is such an odd size - it measures 5.5" x 16".  It fits perfectly in front of the printer on the table next to my desk.  It's an awesome landing space that's close yet out of the way so a cup doesn't get knocked over.

This project is made for Galentine's Day, the day before Valentine's Day when we celebrate our female friendships.  I am not giving my mug rug away because I so rarely quilt for myself, and this one says ME all over it.  Sorry, girl friend!

I have written the full pattern for this project!  It has 8 sizes, including placemat, mini, wall hanging, baby, lap, twin, queen and king!  Phew - that's the most sizes I've ever put in a pattern.  I just didn't know when to stop!  The pattern is strip pieced and goes together super fast, just what we sometimes need in a quilt pattern.  Well actually, that's my favorite kind of quilt to make - strip pieced and fast!  Life is about making more quilts, after all!  The pattern will be released in a few days  - become a follower below to not miss a post.

Pretty mug rug. I can picture it as a table runner or doll blanket.
