The March challenge for Island Batik Ambassadors is to try a new technique, something we've never made before. I've never made a dresden plate and have wanted to for a long time, so that's what I chose. I made a happy rainbow from the fabrics I was given by Island Batik. A special thanks to Island Batik for providing the fabrics for this project.
I used this template to cut the blades. It comes with a tool to get the points nice and sharp. Because it's a wall hanging and not a bed quilt or table runner to be used, I stitched it to the white background in between the blades only; the points are not attached - the
... and joins the Pixelation mug rug I made in February with Island Batik fabrics.

Very Very nice on the Dresden Plate - I made 2 color wheels out of batiks and keep them on the design wall. The Ives (24 colors) and the regular one yellow,blue, and red basic - Neat to have

Oh, this Dresden plate wall hanging is so fabulous! Such beautiful, rich, deep colors and that center piece looks especially nice. I would happily be smiling at this piece each day, too - and those colorful clips are just the frosting on the dessert. ~smile~ Roseanne
