Nantucket Quilt Pattern - The All Blues One!

Today I'm sharing this all blue Nantucket quilt.  It turned out even better than I imagined it would.

Nantucket was so named because the design reminded me of life rings, which reminded me of the sea, which reminded me of Nantucket, a place I've never been, but have sailed past, unbeknownst to me, on a cruise in 2018.  The Harry and Alice version of Nantucket reflects the life rings design even more, to me.

Fabrics in Nantucket the All Blue Version

Fabrics for this quilt were curated from my local quilt shop, my online fabric stash(!), and my personal stash.

In this Nantucket quilt, the fabrics in the "life rings" part of the design have more bold contrast than in the Nantucket Harry and Alice quilt.

Quilting Design and Thread

Nantucket in all Blues is quilted in medium blue Superior Omni, the thread my Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher loves the best.  I chose medium blue because it blends so well with all of the fabrics and yet shows a lovely touch on the Kona Snow.

Backing and Binding

Both the backing and binding are the same fabrics as found in the "life rings".  My preference is a single fabric backing that is a print from the front of the quilt, with a binding that creates a framing finish or visual pop on the front.

The Nantucket quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts pattern shop right here.

Beautiful! I'm a sucker for anything blue to start with, but I love the design of the quilt - traditional patchwork but something different. Well done!

It was the blue one that sold me on buying the pattern, though I'll likely make the one with red for American Hero Quilts. =)
