Today I'm featuring a Picket Fence quilt by Brenda. This quilt inspired me to add an updated layout option to the pattern. She made the original quilt with all of the blocks placed vertically.
Picket Fence Features
The Picket Fence quilt pattern includes 7 sizes - Baby, Square and Rectangular Throws, Twin, Square and Rectangular Queens, and King.
The pattern is layer cake or fat quarter friendly for all quilt sizes. The previous version of the pattern utilized layer cakes and jelly roll strips for the larger sizes, but the updated pattern uses layer cakes or fat quarters for all quilt sizes. It's super easy to use scraps too; just cut the number of each piece size indicated in the pattern.
There are two layout options - alternating orientation of the pieced blocks or all pieced blocks placed horizontally. The quilt above is made with the horizontal layout.
Picket Fence is a strip pieced quilt - you won't be sewing together individual squares and will save a lot of time strip piecing!
