Today I am so excited to share the Fire version of the Waterfall II quilt pattern with you! I am smitten with the colors and fabric designs that complement the pattern so well. :)
Fire Quilt Kits in Throw and Queen sizes are live today on the website! We are just a small mom and pop shop here, so there are just a few of each size. We can't kit hundreds of kits, or even 50, so get one while you can! :)

Fabric Selection
I would never have pulled these fabrics for this quilt pattern, so I must thank Deanna for the idea. She is a customer who purchased the quilt pattern and made it in these colors and sent me a picture of her quilt top. Oh My! It was arranged that I quilt and bind the quilt for her so I could put her quilt through a photography session. You can see pictures of her quilt right here.
This quilt is made with a fantastic fabric collection that moves from light tan through yellows, oranges, reds, and lands on purple, along with a solid black sashing fabric. The quilt really is as alive as these pictures show. Simply stunning!
Longarm Quilting
The digital longarm quilting design used on this quilt is Cultivar, which mimics flames of fire and is perfect for this quilt. Quilting was done on my HandiQuilter Fusion with ProStitcher in Neon Red thread. The red thread is very subtle on the blackish backing fabric and doesn't stand out too much. It's just right!
The Waterfall Quilt Kit in Fire is available in the Busy Hands Quilt shop, along with the quilt pattern which is sold separately. The quilt kit includes all of the fabric for the quilt top and binding.
The Waterfall II Quilt Pattern
The Waterfall II quilt pattern includes the Throw and Queen sizes and includes unique setting triangles that carry the design clear out to the edge of the quilt top. The pattern provides detailed instructions to be sure every color of fabric ends up in the right spot in the quilt.
Pictured above is the original Waterfall II quilt made with Moda Grunge. The names and numbers of the blue fabrics in this quilt are included inside the Waterfall II quilt pattern, so it's easy to reproduce. We cannot get the blue fabrics in bulk, otherwise we would curate kits in the blues for you, too.
Wide Back Fabric
The backing on this quilt is Widescreen in Black, a fabric usually stocked in The Wide Back Shop at Busy Hands Quilts, but which is currently out of stock even at the distributor. I just can't get anymore right now. There are other wide backs in stock that would work perfectly for this quilt also. You can see them all right here.
