Sunshine Baby Quilt in Lazy Afternoon by Zen Chic!

With Summer quickly approaching and the sun bringing the flowers to life, we're releasing a new quilt design called Sunshine!  Maybe where you live it gets too hot in the summer to be outside a whole lot, so summer is actually quilting season, not just the winter!

Sunshine is a brand new quilt pattern looks great in the modern Lazy Afternoon fabric collection with its burnt orange prints mixed with pale pink, blue, and yellow.

Fabrics that say Ah!

This Baby sized Sunshine quilt was made using two charm packs of the Lazy Afternoon fabric collection by Zen Chic for Moda Fabrics.  This stunning fabric does an excellent job of combining fun and unique designs with bright summery colors and pastels.  I love the way the quilt turned out with this modern fabric collection.  Sunshine would make the most adorable baby quilt for that little bundle of joy on your mind!

The sashing fabric is Confetti Cotton Cloud, the backing is Kona Cotton Solid Blue, available in our shop here, and the binding is a tiny black and white on-point gingham, adding a fun zip to the edges of the quilt.

Sunshine is stash-friendly with instructions for using charm squares, layer cakes, and fat quarters.

Longarm Machine Quilting

The quilting design used for this stunning quilt is African Samba by Apricot Moon in light blue thread.  This was all done using my HandiQuilter Amara with ProStitcher.

Fabrics that will make you sing!

This Throw sized Sunshine quilt was made using the Perfect Union fabric collection by Laundry Basket Quilts.  This collection of primitive blues in just a few hues incorporates flowers, stars, dots, and many other designs that go together nicely!  This is an older fabric collection that I was able to gather from Laundry Basket Quilts and Etsy.

The sashing is Confetti Cotton Cloud, and the backing is Shades in Cream, available in our shop right here.  The binding is a fabric from the Perfect Union collection.

Longarm Machine Quilting

The quilting design used for this stunning quilt is Wave on Wave by Patricia Ritter, available at Urban Elementz.  The thread used is Superior Omni in 3004 Cream.  This was all done using my HandiQuilter Amara with ProStitcher.

This quilt top was made by Kare Ybarra and quilted and bound by me.

Such lovely fall-themed fabrics!

This Throw sized Sunshine quilt was made using the Autumn Afternoon fabric collection by Heather Peterson for Riley Blake Designs.  This is a fabulous collection of pumpkins, geometric patterns, leaves, and flowers all in bright, vibrant hues, including the prettiest of plums.  I love the way the quilt turned out with this vivid fabric collection that is perfect for fall decor.

The backing and binding is made from the Daisies in Saffron print from the Autumn Afternoon collection, currently available in our shop right here.

The quilting design used for this stunning quilt is Trillium Leaf Allover by Darlene Epp in Superior Omni Cream thread, done on my HandiQuilter Amara with ProStitcher.

The fabric used for this Throw sized Sunshine quilt is Vibrance by Leslie Ryan for Riley Blake Designs - leaving out the navy blue prints.  This stunning fabric really pops with its bright and vibrant colors with the Kona Cotton Solid White sashing.  Sunshine in Vibrance would make the perfect quilt to gift your granddaughter or niece!

Accuquilt Friendly

The Sunshine design piece sizes are Accuquilt friendly, and this quilt was cut on my Accuquilt.  It was so quick and easy!  I recently upgraded to the Go! BIG, and the electric feeding system is very easy on the wrists compared to cranking.  Check out the Go! BIG right here.
