Cozy Winter Table Toppers + Giveaway!

Two winter table toppers made with jelly roll strips.  One quilt moves from light in the center to dark in the outer logs, and the other quilt moves from dark in the center to light in the outer logs.  I did this to make full use of all of the jelly roll strips.  

The fabric is Christmas Pure and Simply by Nancy Halvorsen for Benartex.  Don'tcha cringe when the fabric is cut so crookedly in a jelly roll?  

I pieced the binding so it matched the fabric it was next to, and this isn't as difficult as I thought it would be.  It did make a fair bump at each corner though.

I used pretty backings to make them reversible in case of a spill or, in the case of the 30s bowtie print, to make them usable all year long.

The quilt below is a gift for our aunt in Ohio.  I made her a small 13" fall table quilt years ago, and she wanted a larger one for winter, and this is it.

This backing is the last of my long-coveted Thimbleberries Holiday Homecoming yardage.  It's my favorite winter print ever.

Thimbleberries Log Cabin Table Runner in Mauve

This sweet log cabin table runner is the next UFO to surface!  The four log cabin blocks were already completed and just needed a border and finishing.  

She's made mostly from Thimbleberries with a few other fabrics tossed in for variety, all from the stash! 

This table runner quilt is generously sized at 18" x 53". 

The pretty backing makes her reversible!

American Flag Wall Hanging in Thimbleberries

I've begun working on unfinished projects in my closet, and first up during this round of finishing UFOs is a small American Flag wall hanging in Thimbleberries. 

The quilt top was already completed and only needed quilted and bound.  Major projects like this take years, you know!

 The stars are 3" from tip to tip.

 The flag stripes are 1/2" wide.  I used a wave stitch to create a flying flag.

 She'll make a cute table topper or wall hanging.

The backing has stars, too, and includes a rod pocket for easy hanging.

Two Thimbleberries Scrappy Star 'n 9-Patch Quilts

Two Thimbleberries scrappy stars in the nine patch quilts were finally bound today - a table runner and a wall hanging or table centerpiece.  I've been working on a very big queen-sized quilt for my living room wall {you'll see that on Monday!}, so these quilts sat around for a few days before being bound ... {gasp!}.  That was after the blocks sat in my fabric closet for well over a year, waiting for their chance to shine.  See, when I make blocks, I tend to make three times as many as I need, and the remaining blocks are banished to the fabric closet for at least a year, it seems!

It feels great to get another unfinished project FINISHED!!

I quilted with cream and navy thread to blend in with the quilt top.

Thimbleberries Scrappy String Quilted Table Runner

Another UFO from my fabric closet! ... {UnFinished Object} ... More blocks found their way into a quilt today!   They are so happy to be out of the dark closet and into the light! This is a fairly long table runner at almost 50". This quilt is for sale in my Etsy shop! Each block is about 5-3/4" square.   Being a scrappy string quilt, the points do not match ... on purpose. I bought a TON of this dark red with tiny gold stars when I was on a Thimbleberries kick for my home.  It has come in so handy as quilt backs for my extensive Thimblerries collection. Quilt Stats:
