I'm so excited to share the Woven Threads quilt with you today! This is a yummy rainbow or ombre quilt pattern.
Kona Cotton Solids
For this quilt, I pulled strips from my Kona solid strip bin in rainbow order. This is the Twin size, and it requires 14 strips of color, so I pulled two hues of each of the seven traditional rainbow coverways.
The background is black, and the other two colors are a medium gray and a faux linen in charcoal. These colors don't always have to be grays, either. One of the mockups below has blues instead of the grays. White and gray are also options for the background fabric.
The backing is Riley Blake Basic Shades in Granite, available here.
Longarm Quilting
The quilting design is Maze, done in black thread on my HandiQuilter Fusion with ProStitcher. This is one of my favorite designs, as it has never disappointed.
This would be a great pattern to practice straight-line quilting, using the strips in the design as guides for your presser foot.

The Woven Threads quilt pattern includes all the sizes - 5 in all - Baby, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King. Any size you want to make, you're covered!

Strip Pieced for the Win!
Of course, it's strip pieced! I ♥ strip piecing because it saves so much time. You won't be sewing individual squares together one by one. Sew some strips, press, cut, and sew again. Easy peasy!
I would consider this an advanced beginner quilt pattern as it assumed a previous knowledge of basic piecing skills.
Try an Ombre Effect!
Woven Threads is not only a rainbow quilt pattern; it can be an ombre quilt pattern for a single colorway, too. Here is a plum version with a white background and gray accents.
Another option is using only half of the colors that the pattern calls for and repeating them out from the edges into the center, like this blue one below. Of course you'd need twice as much of each color than the pattern says if you're using half of the number of fabrics given in the chart. This has a light gray background with two shades of blue as the accents.
As you can see, there are loads of possibilities even outside of the rainbow!
