Meet Mountain Peaks - another quilt pattern in the log cabin collection at Busy Hands Quilts!

This quilt pattern has been in the works for awhile and is finally ready for you.

Mountain Peaks includes the King size - so many of you have wanted to know how to make Waterfall in the King size, but it didn't work out very easily mathematically, so this one's for you!  Similar to Waterfall, yet the different block sizes make the King size possible - as well as three other sizes - the Baby, Throw, and Queen!

The Mountain Peaks quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Next I'll share the Fire version of Mountain Peaks that you see up there!

The Mountain Peaks Quilt Pattern

Mountain Peaks is similar to Waterfall II, with sashing added.  The sashing is a nice and easy width to sew.  I've learned that sashing that is too narrow is difficult to sew into a quilt top.  Another difference between this pattern and Waterfall II is that the different size of blocks made the King size possible in Mountain Peaks.

Mountain Peaks is a log cabin quilt design that includes unique setting triangles that finish the design clear out to the edges.  In this pattern, there are less block types to make, so the quilt top seems to go together fairly quickly.  Don't fret about all of that sashing either.  It's quite simple to do and makes for a lot of "brainless" sewing that is so relaxing.

So Many Quilt Sizes!

The Mountain Peaks quilt pattern includes 4 sizes - Baby, Throw, Queen, and King.  Yay!  The King size!  I know y'all are going to be so happy about that because wanting to make a King size Waterfall or Waterfall II quilt has been the "bestselling" question I have received for over a year.

     Baby  39" x 39"

     Throw  58" x 78"

     Queen  97" x 97"

     King 107" x 97"

So here's your King log cabin quilt pattern!

The Twin size is not included in the pattern because it didn't work out mathematically while keeping the design consistent.  If you wanted to do some figuring, you could change take the Throw size and change the setting triangle blocks on one side and the bottom to full blocks and then place setting triangles outside of the full blocks.  This doesn't make the design symmetrical, but it would most definitely work.  You're on your own for figuring that out, though!  😃

Mountain Peaks Quilt Kits!

Oh yippee skippy!  We have Mountain Peaks quilt kits in the shop!  There are Throws, Queens, and just a few King sized kits available at this time.  The quilt kits include all of the fabric to make this quilt top and binding, as well as the quilt pattern.

We also have coordinating black and gray wide backs in the shop, or you could add a pop of color as the backing - we have all of it in the shop with ten more options set to arrive very soon.

Here are the links for you:

Longarm Quilting

This Mountain Peaks quilt is the Throw size and is quilted with a ripple design in white thread on my HandiQuilter Fusion with ProStitcher.  I like to put round-ish quilting designs on quilt tops that have so many straight lines of fabric.

The wide back on this quilt is Widescreen in Gray by Robert Kaufman, shown a few pictures above here.  This fabric is available in The Wide Back Shop.
