GRAVITY Quilt Along {Finished Quilts!}

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Can you believe we're finishing our quilts in the GRAVITY Quilt Along!?

   Cheers  erupt,  confetti  falls,  and  happy  dance  begins!!

This paragraph has been edited:  The back of the GRAVITY pattern book has a pillow pattern made from GRAVITY scraps.  For fun, there will be a link-up for finished pillows on December 11, 2015, which is three weeks after the Quilt Along ends.  One entrant will receive a PDF quilt pattern of their choice from Busy Hands Quilts.  I plan to use a gray background in mine since it will be handled everyday when I toss it on/off the bed.

And here's my GRAVITY!

Christa of Cotton Berry Quilts, a sponsor of the GRAVITY Quilt Along, did an amazing job quilting my GRAVITY!  This is the first quilt I've ever had professionally custom quilted, and I am so very tickled with what she did.  My inspiration for quilting GRAVITY came from Tamarack Shack's blog.  You can view Christa's amazing pictures of my quilt on her blog.  WOW is all I have to say, just WOW.  A real camera and talent in using it make a load of difference above my pictures.

The background blocks are quilted with straight lines.  Their simplicity really keeps the focus on the center star.

Christa used Superior Mono Poly thread in the top, which is the slight sheen you see, and white thread in the bobbin.  Batting is Quilter's Dream Wool.

 ♥ Quilt Finishing ♥

My tips for finishing your quilt:
  • If you are using a GRAVITY kit, remember that it includes fabric for the binding.  It's a lovely silver.  Before I remembered that the kit included fabric for the binding, I had intended to use black, but I am very pleased with the silver binding.

Your quilt is beautiful. I recently attended a quilt show and voted for a gravity quilt for show favorite. Your quilting is much prettier--I like dense quilting and lots of motifs that work together. Your quilt motifs definitely work together.

Hey, hey!!! Gravity all finished!Really cool having the pairings of quilting motifs like that.

This was so much fun! thanks to you and your QAL I actually started this quilt and have the motivation to finish! I will confess: When I bought the pattern I was like, well I have it but I won't probably ever make it and then I found your QAL and I thought "why not?" I was ALWAYS behind but I have all the center blocks made and now working on the background, BORING! I want to get it quilted like yours so I probably won't make the deadline of Nov 20, mainly because I don't know of a good custom quilter, but I'm going to try!

I can't wait to see what you next QAL will be!

Thanks for all the work you put into it!

Hello!
Did I have to finish the quilt top by the deadline to meet the finished quilt one? Also, what if I change the background slightly but follow all the blocks?
