Night Sky - A New Quilt Pattern!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Another quilt pattern has emerged from the large pile of patterns patiently waiting their turn to shine.  Some need a cover quilt made and some are still in the technical writing phase.  Anywho...  Meet Night Sky - a fun fat quarter friendly quilt pattern in Throw and Queen sizes!

Night Sky is fat quarter friendly and would be a great stash busting quilt.  Choose five different colors, and then choose a light, medium, and dark hue in each color.  Add in a bold color for the stars, a neutral background, and you're good to go.

I made the cover quilt from a fat quarter bundle of Aria by Kate Spain.  The stars are made with a navy fabric with medium blue dots.

The pattern includes instructions on how to make this fun rainbow version, and I have a rainbow pile of these exact fabrics just waiting to be sewn up.  One day!

Are You Sewing on National Sew A Jelly Roll Day?!?

This Saturday, September 21, is National Sew a Jelly Roll Day!  That's NSJRD in case you were wondering.  ;)  I'm not sure I'm going to sew along because none of the quilts on my to-do list are jelly roll patterns.  Hmm.

Fat Quarter Shop is having a Jelly Roll Sale just for you!  Save 20% off all regular-priced jelly rolls with code JR20.  Go here to see 'em all.

Love your quilt!

And no I'm not going to sew along on National Jelly roll day. I don't buy them. I know that makes me weird but I like picking my own fabrics not having someone else curate them for me. Okay, that and they cost more than the equivalent yardage as well and aren't as flexible in how they can be used.

That isn't to say I won't ever buy one. Never say never is my motto.

National Jelly Roll Week. Maybe I'm exempt because I don't live in America? I have made a couple of quilts using jelly roll patterns, but I haven't bought any in recent years. I don't like how they are cut with pinking shears these days. There's too much mess for my liking. Thank you for linking up to the Peacock Party.
