Easy Bargello Rainbow Twin Quilt sewn in Pop Culture by White Owl Textiles!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Today I'm sharing a glorious rainbow Easy Bargello quilt made with a Fundamentals Pop Culture jelly roll by White Owl Textiles.  The bright white background makes this quilt really pop.

Easy Bargello is an easy version of a typically more complicated Bargello quilt design.

The pattern is in the shop right here.

This Quilt is Famous!

White Owl Textiles, a subdivision of Lumin Fabrics, featured this quilt in their booth at H+H America in Chicago, Illinois in May of 2026.  I am sure it brought many sighs of happiness as crafters passed by.  Rainbows are so happy!

The materials for this quilt were provided to me by White Owl Textiles.  This quilt was pieced and quilted by me, Myra Barnes.  It was so much fun visiting the Easy Bargello quilt pattern again!

Pop Culture Strip Roll

This stunning 2-1/2" strip jelly roll is called Pop Culture.  This group of fabrics is specially curated from their Fundamentals collections and named Pop Culture, and are subtle tone-on-tone prints, not solids, which adds texture and depth and a special touch to the finished quilt.  The strip roll includes 2 strips each of 20 prints in 2 rainbows, which results in the rainbow being repeated four times down the quilt top.  The background fabric is ECCO Solid in 700 Bright White by White Owl Textiles.

The back cover of the pattern includes the order the 40 strips are placed in to create this exact quilt!

Fundamentals Pop Culture is made by White Owl Textiles, a sister company to Island Batik and subdivision of Lumin Fabrics.

Perfect for Rainbow Jelly Rolls

This quilt pattern is perfect for rainbow jelly rolls.  Maybe you have one in your stash and are wondering what to do with it!  This is just the pattern for it.  Rainbow Kona Cotton strip rolls have been around for a long time, so you just might have one ready to go.

Easy Bargello isn't just a rainbow!

Maybe you're wondering what other fabrics work for Easy Bargello besides a rainbow strip roll.  This pattern certainly doesn't need to be a rainbow.  The prints could range from medium to dark in several colorways.  Here are some examples of this.  Click on the link below the image to read the blog post for that quilt (all of these quilt kits are sold out).

Get the Easy Bargello quilt pattern in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Includes Just the Twin Size

As you know, most of my patterns include as many sizes as possible from Baby to King and everything in between.  This pattern includes just the Twin size.  I know how disappointing that is!  Making other sizes would have involved completely new diagrams and charts for each size to create the strip sets, and I just didn't have it in me to figure all of that out when this pattern was written.

Keep reading for how to make the Baby size!

How to Make a Baby Size Easy Bargello

You can read about the Baby size Easy Bargello rainbow quilt I made in this blog post right here.  It is made with 17 different colored strips measuring 21" long, placed in rainbow order in a strip set.  For additional details, refer to the Easy Bargello quilt pattern, though it doesn't include specific instructions for the Baby size.

Longarm Machine Quilting

This quilt was quilted with Diagonal Bias Plaid, an easy modern quilting design, on my Handi Quilter Amara with ProStitcher with Superior Omni Bright White Thread.  I use this design when I don't want the quilting to overpower the quilt top.  Instead, it highlights the simplicity of the rainbow design.

Picket Fence Square Throw Quilt in Berry Market

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Today I am sharing a new quilt in one of my most popular quilt patterns - Picket Fence!  Picket Fence is a multi-sized quilt pattern that includes fabric requirements using 10" layer cake squares, fat quarters, or a combination of 10" squares and strips in the bed quilt sizes.

You'll love that you don't have to cut your favorite fabrics into small pieces, and you can let them shine in this quilt pattern!  The pieced blocks set with the large squares of fabric is a striking symmetrical design.

The Picket Fence quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Meet Picket Fence

The Picket Fence pattern allows for a lot of creative freedom.  The blocks can be oriented in different directions to change the look of the quilt, and both of these layout options are included in the quilt pattern.

This design looks great in many fabric collections.  Sweet pastels or bold, masculine prints are perfect for Picket Fence.  This way, you can make a quilt for everyone on your quilt-it list!  Using some of your favorite fabrics in a variety of hues in the smaller pieced blocks can make your quilt sparkle even more!  The pieced blocks are a great place to use some lighter prints.

7 Sizes Included

Picket Fence includes 7 sizes - Baby, Square Throw, Rectangle Throw, Twin, Square Queen, Rectangle Queen, and King.  With all the different sizes you can choose from, you should be covered for just about any project!  I love doing all of the math, so I've done it for you, and you can select your fabric and pick up the pattern and begin cutting without doing any math calculations to change the quilt size.

The Picket Fence quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Berry Sweet Fabrics!

These charming fabrics are from the Berry Market fabric collection by Beverly McCullough for Riley Blake Designs.  I love this collection so much!  It includes a variety of prints in pinks, mint green, and a deeper teal/green called Stargazer.  It is so bright and cheery to look at!  The background fabric is Confetti Cotton Bright White by Riley Blake Designs.

You will find Berry Market right here in our shop.

Meet Primrose - A New Jelly Roll Quilt Pattern!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

I am so thrilled to introduce a new quilt pattern with you called Primrose!  Primrose is a timeless 9-patch design that takes you back to a simpler time.  You will definitely find yourself coming back to this pattern again and again because it is so much fun to work with!

This is a quilt design that has everything you'd want in a pattern - multiple sizes, two piecing methods, and the opportunity to play around with your favorite fabrics!  The following images are mockups of Primrose in a variety of modern and classic fabric collections that I adore.  All of these mockups are made in the Throw size.

The Primrose quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Primrose - a design you'll love!

Primrose is a simple 2-1/2" Jelly Roll friendly pattern that offers two methods of assembly - Strip and Traditional Piecing.  Strip Piecing sews together strips of fabric which are then cut into segments and sewn together again.  This method requires using more background fabric in some of the size options.  Traditional Piecing is recommended for those seeking a relaxing and simple project sewing individual squares together.

Stars and Stripes Throw Quilt - a new Quilt Pattern in Dazzle Dots Cool Hues!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

I am excited to introduce you to my newest quilt design called Stars and Stripes!  This design is quick and easy yet makes a stunning quilt that you'll be proud to share.  This pattern was inspired by Picket Fence - a long-time favorite quilt pattern of mine.  All of the sizes are included with this design, and the scrappy stars option is fat quarter friendly!

Click here to check out Picket Fence.

Get the Stars and Stripes quilt pattern in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Introducing Stars and Stripes

The Stars and Stripes quilt pattern combines sparkling stars with pieced stripe blocks to make a truly show-stopping quilt!  I love creating quilt patterns with stars scattered playfully across the quilt top like this design does.  It makes the quilt stand out and gives it more character.

There are two star options with this bright and sparkly design - you can use fat quarters to make the scrappy stars and stripe blocks or make identical stars from yardage of two prints with jelly roll strips for the pieced blocks.  Either option works terrifically!

Stars and Stripes is a play on Picket Fence with the pieced strip blocks encircling the sparkling stars, just as the pieced blocks encircle a large fabric square in Picket Fence.  All quilt sizes preserve this layout of the pieced stripe blocks.  You'll find the Picket Fence pattern right here.

All Sizes Included

I wanted to give you all the possible size options for you to make your own Stars and Stripes quilt.  This pattern includes 8 sizes, which are - Wall, Lap, Throw, Large Throw, Twin, Square Queen, Rectangle Queen, and King.  Each size preserves the pattern of pieced stripe blocks encircling the star blocks.

Get the Stars and Stripes quilt pattern in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Dazzling Fabrics

For this quilt, I used the Dazzle Dots fabric collection by Christa Quilts for Benartex.  The name of the fabric says it all; the material has dots beautifully scattered across the stars and stripes.  I chose the greens and blues from the collection to create a soothing Throw sized quilt in cool colors. With the crisp Kona Nautical background, isn't the quilt just -- dazzling?  ðŸ˜Š✨

You can shop for Dazzling Dots fabric here.

The backing fabric is a Hash Dot print in Turquoise, available in the shop right here.  The binding is a navy blue dot print from the Dazzle Dots collection, double fold and attached by machine for durability.

Stars and Stripes Quilt Kits!

Connecting Threads has kitted Stars and Stripes in red and blue fabrics on a background of white to create a stunning patriotic quilt.  You can check out the quilt kits right here.
