Upcoming Pattern - Brick Cottage Lane {a Not-So-Sneaky Peek!}

Here's a not-so-sneaky peek at my next pattern, Brick Cottage Lane!  The pattern includes traditional as well as strip piecing instructions to speed up the process! As usual, I've included instructions for as many sizes as possible - in this case 6 - Baby, Small Lap, Large Lap, Twin, Queen, and King!  You'll also find easy-to-read charts and diagrams, as well as clear instructions in my patterns - I've done the mathy/techy work, so you can have fun choosing fabrics and sewing it up!

UPDATE October 2020:  I have released Hampton Court, a design based on the brickwork in the exterior of in King Henry VIII's castle, Hampton Court, from the 1500s.  The design is made with bricks of varying sizes.  This pattern is completely strip pieced, so you will not be sewing together individual bricks.  Life is about making more quilts, so let's get to it!  You'll find Hampton Court right here.

The quilt above is on my design wall, and the rows have not been sewn together, but I couldn't wait any longer to show you!  My fabrics are Bonnie and Camille fabrics - Miss Kate, Hello Darling - as well as Gooseberry by Vanessa Goertzen and a few other prints tossed in.  Oh, I ♥ those dots, florals, checks, and colors!  The backing will be a Gooseberry print in diagonal red/white check which conveniently comes extra wide for my twin-size quilt!

I've wanted to write this pattern for many months, maybe even six months, but I couldn't wrap my brain about how to strip piece it.  I'm a strip piecer at ♥ in order to save time so I can get more quilts made in my quilting time.  I revisited the pattern every month or so in between other projects, and it finally came together in my head how to piece it in strips, and then it took more time to figure out how to create it in EQ7.

Having just read The Fairest Beauty, I really wanted to name this after the Seven Dwarfs, but I couldn't figure out how to make that work.  They had a cottage in the woods, so I did manage to get that word in the title anyway.  This book is a great twist to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  It's good, clean, Christian reading.

Brick Cottage Lane will be released in a few weeks if all goes as planned!  It is in the final editing stage and is currently being tested for accuracy.  I am super excited to share it with you and to see what you create with it!
