Pixelation Quilt - A Twin Size in Moda Grunge Rainbow!

Today I'm sharing a Pixelation rainbow quilt I made last year and finally quilted this year!  Pixelation is a quick and easy strip pieced quilt pattern.

The Pixelation quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Fabric Selection

I ♥ Moda Grunge fabric as it reads like solids but has depth and texture due to the subtle variations.  A Pixelation quilt is made with nine fabrics, and this quilt includes Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Aqua, Blue, Medium Purple, and Dark Purple.

Pixelation doesn't require any background fabric.

Pixelation is an ombre or gradated design, so Moda Grunge works perfectly for this.  There are many fabric collections that would be perfect to make a Pixelation rainbow.  Or choose a single colorway and place them in order from light to dark hues, like this one.  I've also made a Sunset Pixelation with red, orange, and yellow.  Click here to see it.

All the Quilt Sizes!

The Pixelation quilt pattern includes 8 sizes, the most of any of my quilt patterns.  You're covered from a small Placemat clear up to King.  Block sizes vary in each quilt size, so the smallest sizes are made from very tiny strips, and the large sizes are made from large strips.

This quilt is the Twin size.

Placemat  16" x 16"

Mini  24" x 24"

Wall Hanging  32" x 32"

Baby  40" x 40"

Throw  64" x 64"

Twin  66" x 88"

Queen  96" x 96"

King  108" x 96"

Quick and Easy Quilt Pattern

The Pixelation quilt pattern is strip pieced for a quick and accurate finish.  You'll love how fast this pattern goes together.  ♥

This is a super quick and easy quilt pattern that you can easily sew up on a weekend.  If you don't have a lot of time, this is the perfect pattern for a quick finish.

All of my patterns include pressing instructions so all of the seams nest whenever possible.  This is the second most common thing commented on by you all since it's not always intuitive on how to press seams (the first is the inclusion of so many quilt sizes).

If you follow the pressing seams and assembly directions included in the pattern, every seam in the quilt top will nest.

I used zero pins when assembling Pixelation; of course you are free to use them if that is your go-to!

Longarm Quilting

This Pixelation Twin quilt is quilted with Maze, a modern repeating design, in gray thread on my HandiQuilter Fusion with ProStitcher.  It's one of my favorite designs and I use it often in quilts that just need simple quilting.

Extra Wide Backing

This quilt is backed with Widescreen in Gray, a simple backing for modern quilts.  Click here to view it.
