Granny's Square Patch Quilt in Love Note by Moda Fabrics!

Love Note by Lella Boutique for Moda works perfectly for with the Granny's Square Patch quilt pattern! In this quilt, the chains are made with multiple colors, and in previous versions the chains have all been made with the same color. I like this new look very much! It's so cozy, farmhouse-y, and grandmother-ly! The border is perfect for a focal print that pulls all of the fabrics together.

The quilt pattern includes 6 sizes - Baby, Lap, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King - and is strip pieced for a quick finish.

Cottage Love Quilt - a Throw in Daisy Fields!

Today I'm sharing this relaxing blue, teal, and gold Cottage Love quilt! This fabric collection is Daisy Fields by Riley Blake, and it's perfect for Cottage Love.

Cottage Love is a quick and easy pattern with a scalloped edge created around the sides of the quilt. The pattern includes many quilt sizes.

The Cottage Love Quilt Pattern

The Cottage Love quilt pattern is quick and easy and includes many quilt sizes and is very precut friendly. If the pressing instructions included in the pattern are followed, the majority of the seams nest in the entire quilt top, so quilt top assembly is a breeze! This is the perfect pattern to just sit down and sew without a lot of fuss or cutting.

Cottage Love includes 7 sizes - yes 7! There are three Throw sizes - one is smaller and referred to as a Lap, then the standard Throw, and then a Large Throw for those who snuggle under their quilts. :) Sizes included in the instructions are:

Baby

Large Throw

Twin

Queen

King

Good Beginner Friendly Pattern

Cottage Love is a great beginner-friendly quilt pattern, especially if you use precuts as there is minimal cutting to do in this case. My patterns assume you can sew a straight line and know the basics of quilting. This is the perfect pattern to get some more experience under your needle. For those of you who are intermediate and experts, you will enjoy sewing this beautiful design as well.

Precut and Fat Quarter Friendly Quilt Pattern

This pattern is perfect for using 5" charm squares, 10" layer cake squares, or fat quarters. It's truly stash friendly! You can also use your scrap bins since none of the fabrics need to be duplicated, so you won't have to worry about having enough of a print.

Daisy Fields Fabrics

The fabric collection featured in this quilt is Daisy Fields from Riley Blake Designs. It's a really lovely collection of blue, teals and gold with crisp white. Prints are daisies, hexagons, dots, gingham, text, and tone-on-tones.

The blue gingham backing and binding on the quilt is also from the Daisy Fields collection.

Quilt Kits in Daisy Fields

We are offering quilt kits in Cottage Love in our shop. The quilt kit includes a white background and a gingham blue from the Daisy Fields collection for the binding; all fabrics from Riley Blake Designs. There are also quilt kits in a different fabric collection called Sweet Picnic.

Longarm Machine Quilting

This quilt was beautifully pieced by my professional sewist, Kare. I sent this quilt out to be quilted by Megan of BestQuilter.com. The quilting design is Ribbon Curls, done on Megan's HandiQuilter machine in white thread.

The binding on this quilt is the blue gingham print from the Daisy Fields collection.

Cottage Love Quilt Pattern - a Throw in Sweet Picnic!

Today I'm sharing a brand new quilt pattern - Cottage Love - a quick and easy design made from a variety of precuts or stash fabrics. Every size you could want to make is included in the quilt pattern - 7 in all - and it's so fun to sew!

With so many precut options that work for this pattern, this is a great stash quilt.

Cottage Love Quilt Pattern

Cottage Love quilt pattern includes all of the sizes - 7 in all - so no matter what size of quilt you have in mind, we've gotcha covered. There are two Throw sizes, too, cause sometimes you want a quilt-for-two-to-snuggle quilt. :)

The quilt shown is the Throw size, made by Joanne, one of my professional sewists.

Cottage Love is quick and so easy and beginner friendly. Every seam nests in the quilt top to help your piecing be more accurate and make assembly possible without pinning. I love nesting seams, so I try to find a way to make them work in every pattern I write and give detailed pressing instructions to make it happen, when possible.

Precut Charms, Layer Cakes, or FQ Friendly

Cottage Love works great for using up you stash since it uses charm squares, layer cakes, or fat quarters. It's easy to use your scrap bins - just cut the number of squares indicated in the pattern.

Sweet Picnic Fabrics and Quilt Kits

This quilt is made with Sweet Picnic fabrics by Riley Blake. It's such a sweet collection of purples, aquas, reds, and golds - with a variety of florals, ginghams, cherries, bicycles, and tone-on-tones prints. They aren't colors I would have put together myself, but they play together so well.

Really so many fabrics would look great in this pattern. It's suitable for reproduction and traditional fabrics, and farmhouse style fabrics like Sweet Picnic, but also modern fabrics such as varying shades of gray and black prints.

Longarm Quilting

I sent this quilt off to be quilted by Megan of Best Quilting. She used the Ribbon Curls design in cream thread. She also runs HandiQuilter machines, as I do in my quilt studio.

Wide Backing

The wide backing used on this quilt is Dry Brush in Cream, available right here in The Wide Back Shop. The subtle shading perfectly complements the quilt top.

The Cottage Love quilt pattern got its name from the picket fence look on the edges of the quilt. I already have a Picket Fence quilt pattern (check it out here), so Cottage Love was chosen with the notion that a cottage might have a white picket fence.

Formation Throw Quilt in Timber!

Today I'm sharing more pictures of a Formation quilt in the Throw size, made with Timber by Moda Fabrics. This modern fabric collection includes black, grays, rusty golds, and green, with outdoorsy prints in trees, tents, ginghams, stripes, and tone-on-tones. It's a perfect fabric collection for Formation!

This quilt pattern is quick and easy with large blocks that are made four at a time.

Formation Quilt Pattern

Formation is a flying geese quilt pattern, using large geese, so it's quick and easy to make. You'll want a flying geese trimmer, and the one I found that trims to the size required for the pattern is right here.

The Formation quilt pattern includes 5 sizes - Baby, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King. All of the math has been done for you for each size.

Formation is a stash-friendly quilt pattern, using fat quarters you likely have in your stash. Pretty much any fabrics will look great in this pattern. For the greatest effect, choose a background fabric that stands out from the fat quarters. This quilt is made with Timber by Moda Fabrics.

Formation is a modern quilt pattern, perfect for the minimalist who wants simple house decor. It's also great for farmhouse decor.
