Quilting has always been a passion of mine.  The fact that I get to work with fabrics and create designs from the comfort of my home and be able to distribute them to fellow quilters like you has been an incredible opportunity.  A real dream come true!  I especially love the community that my job has helped to create.  

You may have heard that Busy Hands Quilts is also on Facebook.  We have created a Busy Hands Quilts Facebook Group where people are encouraged to share their finished quilts in my pattern and even its story.  I am amazed and grateful for the amount of activity I have seen so far in the group and beyond stunned with the amount of talent everyone possesses.  

I thought it would be worthwhile to start sharing some of these creations with you!  Perhaps sharing some of my customer's creations might inspire more people to create fun and unique quilts of their own.

The following quilts were made by Timeless Quilts.  And what an incredible job this person did!  Both quilts look immaculate!  The fabric that Timeless Quilts used for this pattern was Story Time by American Jane.

Belle Throw Quilt in Shelburne Falls!

Today I'm sharing a Belle quilt in the Throw size.  This quilt is made with an older fabric collection called Shelburne Falls by Denyse Schmidt.

Belle is a stunning quilt pattern that is precut friendly, using layer cake squares for the quilt blocks as well as the pieced border.  In this quick quilt pattern, the X's float in the background of the blocks, and the center of the X is a different print than the legs of the X.

Precut 10" Layer Cake Friendly

The Belle quilt pattern is precut friendly, perfect for 10" layer cake squares.  All of the prints in the blocks and Seminole border are cut from the precut squares.  This makes fabric selection very simple.  

The Throw and Twin sizes are made with less than one layer cake, with room to leave out the squares that are too similar in hue to the background color.  The quilt is most effective when the blocks and border stand out from the background, whether the background is light or dark.  Scroll down for a picture of a Belle quilt made with a dark background.

Four Quilt Sizes!

The Belle quilt pattern includes four quilt sizes, so you don't have to do the math to make the quilt size you'd really like to make.

     Throw Quilt Size  54" x 72"  uses 24 layer cake squares

     Twin Bed Size  73" x 91"  uses 34 layer cake squares

     Queen Bed Size  93" x 102"  uses 48 layer cake squares

     King Bed Size  111" x 111"  uses 65 layer cake squares

To make the Baby size, you could leave off the two outer borders (a solid border and a pieced border) and make 16 quilt blocks, laid out in a 4x4 layout.

Pieced Border

Don't let the pieced border scare you!  It's a Seminole-type border, and I've included detailed written instructions and graphics on how to make this border.  Broken down into step-by-step instructions, you'll find the confidence to make the border even if you haven't made one like this before.  The border adds a special touch to the quilt top.

Shelburne Falls Fabric

This Throw sized quilt is made with the Shelburne Falls fabric collection by Denyse Schmidt.  It's an older collection with some prints still available right here.  The collection is a fun mix of florals, plaids, ditties, and geometrics in bright and happy colors.  The navy floral fabric used as backing is also from the collection.

Longarm Quilting

This Belle quilt is quilted with Canna, an echoed quilt design, in white thread on my HandiQuilter Fusion with ProStitcher.
