Good Fortune Baby Quilt | Finished or Not Friday Linky Party!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

Oops, I totally forgot about Finished or Not Friday!  Some secret pattern designing and sewing have taken over every brain cell; that's my excuse!

My Finish is a patchwork baby quilt in Good Fortune by Kate Spain.

This quilt was sewn and quilted several months ago, but I found nothing in the stash that matched for binding, so there it sat.  Somehow, a fabric came through the door {cough, cough} during a stash-building spree that just happened to match.

This quilt will be for sale in my Etsy shop as soon as my imaginary fairy helper gets it there.

Quilt Stats:

Pattern:  10" squares patchwork
Size:  38" x 47"
Fabric:  Good Fortune by Kate Spain
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly
Quilting:  Orbit Chevron on Gratitude
Backing:  Fun polka dots, probably Riley Blake

Fabric:  Good Fortune by Kate Spain
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly

Hello Sunshine - An Orange and Pink Strip Quilt

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Mrs.Sunshine is a custom quilt for customer who found my quilts on Craigslist. My customer purchased The Backing That Became a Quilt Top Which Became a Quilt and liked that quilt so much that she requested a quilt in the same pattern with oranges, hot pinks, and mustard.
Hello Sunshine - Orange and Pink Strip Quilt
This quilt includes the very things she loved about her first purchase - strips of fabric carrying over to the back and scrappy binding.  I'm happy to create a quilt to reflect exactly what you have in mind!

Good Fortune Quilted Table Runner

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Another WIP finished!
... Good Fortune Table Runner ...  I just love this fabric!
Good Fortune Quilted Table Runner
This quilt top is leftover from the Good Fortune baby quilt I made awhile back.  The quilt top ended up too wide for a baby quilt, so I left off these three strips to make a table runner.

Good Fortune Quilted Table Runner
I am running low on this fabric, so if you would like a custom size table runner, wall hanging, or baby quilt with your choice of pattern, let me know soon!

Good Fortune Quilted Table Runner

  • Pattern:  Sashed rows of blocks
  • Size:  17" x 36"
  • Fabric:  Good Fortune by Kate Spain for Moda and Moda Bella White
  • Batting:  100% cotton
  • Backing:  Queen Street by Jennifer Paganelli for Free Spirit
  • Quilting:  All over meandering stipple in white polyester thread on Mrs.Bernina, my old 830 which was my grandmother's.
  • Binding:  Double fold, attached by machine in Queen Street by Jennifer Paganelli for Free Spirit.

Good Fortune Baby Quilt or Tablecloth

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Good Fortune by Kate Spain is such a fun collection to work with and makes such a pretty baby quilt.  It has a bit of an Oriental / Japanese flair to it.  I ♥ the mix of flowers and dragonflies and really ♥ purple and orange together!  This quilt would also be very striking as a table top quilt or wall hanging.
Good Fortune Baby Quilt
The pattern looks very basic, but it takes care to get the strips straight - 'cause if you don't, it sure shows.
Good Fortune Baby Quilt
Coordinating two-tone wave backing in vivid blue. This fabric also waves at you in the quilt front.
Good Fortune Baby Quilt
The quilt top ended up larger than baby size, so I left off three rows of squares sashed in white from this project, and I am making them into a table runner, hopefully this week.
Good Fortune Baby Quilt
She'll look sweet anywhere - rolled up in the diaper bag, flung over a chair, or lying in a heap on the floor, drenched in cracker crumbs.

Good Fortune Baby Quilt!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

I  Good Fortune fabric by Kate Spain!  Just a few days after receiving this precious bundle in the mail, I chopped into the fat quarter bundle, cutting 10" and 5" squares, and 2.5" strips, and whipped up this fun baby quilt!  I used straight-line quilting to continue the modern theme of the fabric.

♥ Yeah for a sunny day to photograph a quilt outside! ♥

I ♥ making quilt backings from coordinating prints in the fabric line!  The backing wasn't quite big enough, so I added a strip of  leftover scraps bordered in white which finished it off just right!

Here's a close-up of the scrappy binding, also made from Good Fortune fabric.

Quilt Stats:
  • Fabric in Top, Backing, and Binding:  Good Fortune by Kate Spain for Moda and Moda Bella Solid White
  • Size:  35" x 37"
  • Batting:  100% cotton
  • Quilting:  Straight lines
  • Value:  So cheerful!
