Sweet Caroline II Quilt Pattern!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Sweet Caroline II is patchwork design that goes together quickly and easily with strip piecing!

This is a quick and easy quilt design made with 5 fabrics.  In the gray and yellow version, there are 3 yellow prints, white, and a mottled gray.

Sweet Caroline II is a great place to use Moda Grunge; this is Grunge in deep red, black, 2 grays, and white.
Once again, Grunge for the win!  This is 4 purples and white.

SWEET CAROLINE II IN WILD CRIMSON

Sweet Caroline II has been kitted in the King size by Connecting Threads in their Wild Crimson fabric collection.  It's a terrific mix of bold blues and red with a splash of tan.  Click here to read more.

Sweet Caroline Quilt Pattern - Twin Size in Dutch Garden!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Sweet Caroline is a patchwork delight in blues and yellows!  This is a Twin size quilt.

Sweet Caroline quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts pattern shop.

DUTCH GARDEN SWEET CAROLINE TWIN QUILT

Sweet Caroline is a quick and easy strip pieced quilt made using yardage of medium and dark hues in a single colorway or, as in the Dutch Garden version, two colorways - blue and yellow.

This beautiful blue and yellow fabric collection is Dutch Garden by Bluprint, sadly no longer available.  It shouldn't be too difficult to find a substitute though; either an entire collection, or combining fabrics from the stash.

FEATHERED ROSES QUILTING DESIGN

Perfectly complementing the quilt top is Feathered Roses, a fairly wide edge-to-edge digital design.  Sweet Caroline is quilted in bright white thread.

Borrowed from my daughter's book collection, The Fellowship of the Ring, Heidi, and Heidi Grows Up.  And a small globe leftover from our homeschooling days.  :)
This beautiful quilt finished off beautifully with a yellow polka dot border from my stash (not part of Dutch Garden) and a blue border from the collection.

FABRIC PLACEMENT TO REPRODUCE THIS QUILT

This quilt is easily reproducible with your own fabrics.  Use medium yellows and blues as Assorted Medium Prints, and use darker yellows and blues as Assorted Darker Prints where called for in the pattern.
The backing fabric is a small ditsy floral from the Dutch Garden collection, also used for the binding.

Quilt Stats:
Pattern:  Sweet Caroline, available right here.
Size:  68" x 83"
Fabric:  Dutch Garden by Bluprint
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Cotton Poly
Quilting:  Feathered Roses in white thread on Gratitude, my Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher

Sweet Caroline Quilt Pattern - Throw Size in Botanical Blue!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Today I'm sharing this Sweet Caroline Throw quilt.  I've finally gotten around to taking pictures of this super sweet blue and white quilt!

Sweet Caroline quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts pattern shop.

BOTANICAL BLUE SWEET CAROLINE QUILT

Sweet Caroline is a quick and easy strip pieced quilt made using yardage of medium and dark hues.  This quilt is made with the beautiful Botanical Blue collection from Connecting Threads.

THE FLOWER SPRAY QUILTING DESIGN

I quilted this Sweet Caroline quilt with a Flower Spray digital design on my Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher.  The design is a beautiful mix of posies and feathers and is available right here.

This beautiful Sweet Caroline quilt is finished off with a navy blue fabric with a tiny white design.
The backing is the medium blue main print from the collection.  It's the same print as the navy outer border.

BACKGROUND DESIGNS

Fabric placement is key to Sweet Caroline, and it's all laid out for you in the pattern.  See the three navy squares in the patchwork blocks and how they rotate every other block?  That's not random; it's planned.  This fabric placement gives the design a whole new look.
Placement of the strips in the stripe blocks is also outlined in the pattern to create the striking outline of the patchwork blocks.

YARDAGE FRIENDLY or JELLY ROLL STRIPS

Sweet Caroline is written with yardage in mind which you will cut into 2-1/2" jelly roll strips.  The focus is using medium and dark hues in a single colorway with a soft background color and then setting triangle and border fabrics that pull it all together.
But don't think that more than one colorway doesn't work with Sweet Caroline!  Tomorrow I'll show you a version with blues and yellows!

This patchwork quilt ended up so sweet - perfect for a Throw quilt on the sofa or at the end of the bed.
I had so much fun taking pictures of this quilt and just couldn't stop!

Would you believe ... this is taken hanging on my garage door.

Good Fortune Baby Quilt | Finished or Not Friday Linky Party!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

Oops, I totally forgot about Finished or Not Friday!  Some secret pattern designing and sewing have taken over every brain cell; that's my excuse!

My Finish is a patchwork baby quilt in Good Fortune by Kate Spain.

This quilt was sewn and quilted several months ago, but I found nothing in the stash that matched for binding, so there it sat.  Somehow, a fabric came through the door {cough, cough} during a stash-building spree that just happened to match.

This quilt will be for sale in my Etsy shop as soon as my imaginary fairy helper gets it there.

Quilt Stats:

Pattern:  10" squares patchwork
Size:  38" x 47"
Fabric:  Good Fortune by Kate Spain
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly
Quilting:  Orbit Chevron on Gratitude
Backing:  Fun polka dots, probably Riley Blake
