A Note About the Border

Fabric collections are designed almost a year before they are shipped to fabric shops, and designing quilt kits for a fabric collection happens fairly early in the long process.  Since the time this quilt kit was mocked up for Connecting Threads and the quilt kits were finalized, the Summer on the Porch quilt pattern has been updated with a narrow border in all quilt sizes.  The quilt pattern available in my shop includes this border, but the quilt kit and pattern available at Connecting Threads does not include this border.

Summer on the Porch Quilts by Customers!

Today's post is to share some of the beautiful quilts customers have made in the Summer on the Porch quilt pattern.  This design is perfect for fat quarter bundles you have in your stash, along with a contrasting background fabric.

A King size by Cindy White for her sister.  Matching pillow shams are below. She designed and figured out how to make them on her own, as the pattern does not include directions to make pillow shams.

A Queen size by Janet S, with a border added.  The pattern does not include a border, but looks great and is a great idea!

Summer on the Porch Throw Quilt in Nana Mae 8 Fabrics!

The Summer on the Porch quilt pattern was selected to feature the Nana Mae 8 fabric collection by Henry Glass, and I was super excited when they sent me the fabric to sew up a quilt sample!  This fabric collection is a mix of 30s-style feedsack florals in the sweetest colors.  Because all of the prints are colors and there are no neutrals in this collection, it was super easy to use with a creamy white background.

The Summer on the Porch quilt pattern is fat quarter friendly and includes four quilt sizes.

I am so happy that I get to share my Summer on the Porch quilt pattern with you!  Summer on the Porch has just recently been kitted in the Throw size by Connecting Threads in their new fabric collection, Sunshine Terrace.

Summer on the Porch is an enchanting quilt pattern that includes 4 sizes - Throw, Twin, Queen, and King.  This is a fat quarter quilt pattern, so this is a great pattern to use your stash.

This quilt kit includes the pattern plus all the fabric you will need for the quilt top and binding.  Backing fabric and batting are not included.  The quilt finishes at 60" x 72".
