Postage Stamp Pillow in Red and White
This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!Finished today is this red and white checked pillow with a vintage look, made entirely of scraps! I used Pellon Fusible Stabilizer 1" Quilter's Grid On-Point Interfacing to secure the 2" squares together and then sewed the seams right sides together using the lines on the interfacing as a guide. The quilt top was then quilted with a layer of batting and muslin and quilted in a straight line fashion each direction. I'm giving thanks again for my walking foot! The reverse is an envelope opening in a white and red floral print. This project felt like miles of sewing, but she is pretty sweet! She fits a 16" pillow form or an 18" pillow form for a really stuffed look.

Obama and The Movie 2016
This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!
2016 is a movie coming out this summer which will tell of Obama's dream from his father to downsize America. A second presidential term would mean Obama would not be tethered by popularity polls or re-election aspirations since there is a two-term limit, and the damage he would do in a second term would be staggering to Americans. Please help publicize this movie so more people become informed and vote responsibly in the 2012 elections - in all elections, not just the presidential.
You can view this video at http://youtu.be/Z6QOscKvUjU
Please watch it in its entirety, not just the trailer for the movie at the beginning.

Help with Colors Bleeding When Washing a Quilt
This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!
Before After
I had to re-take the pictures so they were accurate in my Etsy shop, but today is too windy to take any outside, and the new pictures aren't as nice as the outdoor shots.
Remember the Red White Irish Chain quilt that bled in the wash and the white vine fabric turned pink? You can read about that in a previous post. Sarah Craig at Confessions of a Fabric Addict left me a comment recommending washing it with Shout Color Catchers and OxyClean. I used both of these products and re-washed the quilt, and the pink became quite a bit lighter; not quite back to white, but much lighter. I will for sure be using this when washing all quilts in the future! Thanks, Sarah!

{The pant legs will be sewn into a quilt top - the ultimate in UPCYCLING!!}
Update: The skirts on the left and right have sold, but the skirt in the middle is still available!

Laura Ingalls Wilder Dress for Millie
This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!
For Millie's 11th birthday {yes, my baby is getting old!}, at her request, I made her a Laura Ingalls Wilder Prairie Dress. She loves old-fashioned things! THIS is the pattern I used, and the fabrics can be found HERE and HERE.
Here is the Laura Ingalls Wilder Prairie Dress I made for Millie in 2009 for her birthday. Three years later, she still wears it although it is a bit below her knees now {with the wide hem let out}, and the sleeves are halfway to her elbows! The loose waist makes it fit for a long time!
